MCPD Arrest Report 11/21/2016
The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 11/18/2016:
Christina J. Derouen, 31 years of age, Address- S. Ibera St. New Iberia, La. was arrested on 11/19/2016 @ 7:53 pm.
Charge: Reckless Operation
Hit and Run
Following Vehicle too Closely
A patrol officer observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed in a parking lot of a local business on Hwy 182 near David Dr. A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Christina Dereuen. While speaking to Derouen, the officer was informed that the vehicle she was driving was just involved in hit and run vehicle crash in the parking lot of a local pharmacy on Hwy 182. According to reports, Derouen did admit to crashing into the rear of a vehicle and leaving the scene. Derouen was place under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Derrick L. Lawernce, 40 years of age, Address- Loring Dr. Baton Rouge, La. was arrested on 11/20/2016 @ 9:07 pm.
Charge: Speeding
Driving Under Suspension
A patrol officer in the area of Hwy 70 near Fig St., observed a vehicle traveling at a speed higher than the speed posted. A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver, Derrick Lawrence was asked to produce a valid driver's license. A computer check revealed that Lawernce's driver's license was under suspension. Lawerence was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Dontrell D. Carter, 32 years of age, Address- Al Joseph Ln. Thibodeaux, La. was arrested on 11/19/2016 @ 9:26 pm.
Charge: Driving Under Suspension
No Turn Signal
A patrol officer in the area of Shaw Dr. near Hemlock St., observed a vehicle fail to use its turn signal, prior to turning onto Hemlock St. A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver, Dontrell Carter was asked to produce a valid driver's license. A computer check revealed that Carter's driver's license was under suspension. Carter was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Russell Smith, 53 years of age, Address- Marina Dr. Gibson, La. was arrested on 11/20/2016 @ 1:59 am.
Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
Officers responded to a local convenient store on Hwy 182 in regards to an individual that appears intoxicated in front of the store. Officers arrived and identified the individual as Russel Smith. Officers did smell a strong odor of alcohol emitting from Smith's breath and person. Smith was also unsteady on his feet. Smith was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Shilah A. Mire, 34 years of age, Address- Wilson Ln. Patterson, La. was arrested on 11/20/2016 @ 10:30 pm.
Charge: Remaining After Being Forbidden
Officers responded to a residence on Pecan St. in regards to removing an individual. Officers arrived and spoke to witnesses, who stated that Shilah Mire had been asked to leave the residence several times, but has refused to leave. Officers spoke with Mire and asked her to gather her belongings and leave the residence. Mire refused to leave, she was then placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
