The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 12/08/2016:
Shekera M. Sylvester, 37 years of age, Address- Short St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/08/2016 @ 2:43 pm.
Charge: Possession of Legend Drug
Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule IV Drug
Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II Drug
Roger Short, 31 years of age, Address- Mary St. Gibson, La. was arrested on 12/08/2016 @ 2:43 pm.
Charge: No Turn Signal
Switched License Plate

Possession of Schedule IV Drug with Intent to Distribute
Possession of Schedule II Drug with Intent to Distribute
Warrant-Remaining After Being Forbidden
Warrant- Simple Assault
A patrol officer in the area of Justa St. and Martin Luther King Blvd. observed a vehicle fail to use its turn signal, while turning on to MLK Blvd. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, identified as Roger Short was asked to produce a valid driver's license. A computer check revealed that the plate displayed on the vehicle was registered to a different vehicle. It was also learned that there was no insurance on the vehicle. Short also held active warrants for the Morgan City Police Department. The passenger in the vehicle, Shekera Sylvester was asked to exit the vehicle. Officers were able to get consent to search the vehicle and located cellophane bags packaged for sale of pills identified as Hydrocodone, Tramadol and Trazodone. Both Short and Sylvester were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Alex J. Theriot, 26 years of age, Address- Sixth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/08/2016 @ 2:53 pm.
Charge: Warrant- Probation Violation (2cts)
Alex Theriot was placed under arrest in the City Court of Morgan City for probation violation. Theriot was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
