MCPD Arrest Report 12/14/2016

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 12/13/2016:

Gary Mitchell, 56 years of age, Address- Canary St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/13/2016 @ 3:18 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Failure to Pay Fines
                Direct Contempt of Court

   Gary Mitchell was placed under arrest in the City Court of Morgan City for disrupting court proceedings. Mitchell also held an active warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court. Mitchell was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Dearius D. Kenner, 29 years of age, Address- Grace St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/13/2016 @ 11:30 am.

Charge:  Warrant-Telephone Harassment

   Dearius Kenner was transported from the Law Enforcement Center in Centerville, La. to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the Morgan City Police Department. Kenner was booked and incarcerated.


Sammy Ordoyne, 41 years of age, Address- Glenwood St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/13/2016 @ 3:21 pm.

Charge: Theft of Utilities

   Officers responded to a residence on Glenwood St. in regards to theft of utilities. Officers arrived and made contact with a witness, who stated  that there was an illegal connection of utilities from one of the apartments. Officers located evidence of the illegal connection and made contact with the resident, Sammy Ordoyne. Reports indicate that Ordoyne admitted to the theft of utilities. Ordoyne was placed under arrest and transported the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Shannon Charlie, 37 years of age, Address- Taft St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 12/13/2016 @ 9:57 pm.

Charge: General Speed Law
               Possession Of Schedule IV CDS (2cts)
                Introduction of Contraband in a Penal Institute
                Driving Under Suspension
              No Child Passenger Restraint System

   A patrol officer in the area of Martin Luther King Blvd near US 90, observed a vehicle traveling at a speed higher than the speed posted. A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver, Shannon Charlie was asked to produce a valid driver's license. While speaking with driver, the officer observed a small child in the rear of the vehicle not restrained in a car seat. A computer check revealed that Charlie's driver's license was suspended. Charlie was placed under arrest. The child was released to a guardian.  Charlie was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking. Once at the police department, a search was done on Charlie by a corrections officer and several pills were located. The pills were identified as Diazepam and Clonazepam. Charlie was additionally charged and incarcerated.


Alvin J. Fitch, 29 years of age, Address- Honey Ln. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/14/2016 @ 12:50 am.

Charge:  Warrant- Theft over $5000.00

   Alvin Fitch was transported from the Berwick Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant stems from an incident in October, which alleges that Fitch stole approximately $6000.00 from a residence. Fitch was booked and incarcerated.


McKenzie Gobert, 21 years of age, Address- Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/14/2016 @ 2:50 am.

Charge:  Driving Under Suspension
                Expired License Plate
                Possession of Marijuana 1st Offense
                No Tail Lamps
                Warrant- Failure to Appear Speeding (St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office)

   A patrol officer in the area of Onstead St. and Federal Ave., observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, McKenzie Gobert was asked to produce a valid driver's license. A computer check revealed that Gobert's driver's license was suspended. While speaking with the driver, the officer observed a cellophane bag containing suspected marijuana on the floor of the driver side of the vehicle. Gobert was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
