Detectives with the Narcotics Division began an investigation into the sales of illegal narcotics from a Lawrence Street address and as a result, secured a search warrant for the residence.  Narcotics Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department with the assistance of officers from both the Louisiana State Police as well as the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department executed the warrant.  Investigators located Michael Francois Jr. and a female Ora Garner along with others, including two juveniles ages 9 and 5 inside the residence.  During the subsequent search of the residence, investigators located powder cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, synthetic marijuana, Hydrocodone, Xanax and items of drug paraphernalia.  The subjects located were questioned and as a result of the evidence and statements gathered, both Michael Francois Jr. and Ora Gerner were arrested and charged.  The subject, Michael Francois Jr., after learning of his pending arrest, became unruly.  The subject began to threaten officers present and advising the officers that he would not go to jail. He made threats that he would have to be killed or he would kill someone.  As officers began to escort Francois from the residence, he began to strike his head repeatedly against a wall, then breaking free from the officer, the subject smashed into a toilet in the residence causing a minor injury to the subject.  The subject became combative and was restrained in an effort to prevent further injuries.  As he was escorted to the police unit, he continued to be uncooperative.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where the subject refused any medical treatment.  The subject had to be placed in a holding cell due to his combative nature and to be monitored.  The investigation is continuing.  Both Michael Francois Jr. and Ora Garner remain incarcerated with no bond yet set.
