Arrest Report 08/05/2014

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 08/4/2014:

 

 

Christopher Hatfield, 42 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/04/2014 @ 5:30am

Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery; Criminal Damage to Property

     Officers were dispatched to a Brashear Ave. address in regards to a domestic complaint.  Officers arrived and were advised by a female victim that she was involved in an altercation with Christopher Hatfield and during the altercation, Hatfield struck the victim and damaged a cell phone.  The officer gathered evidence which cooberated the statement and was able to locate Hatfield a short distance away from the residence.  Hatfield was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Kebe A. Ennis, 33 years of age, Address-Third St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/04/2014 @ 9:56am

Charge: Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Driver License; Improper Lighting

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with  non functioning brake lights on Federal Ave. and stopped the vehicle to speak with the driver.  The driver, Kebe Ennis was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Joseph G. Soto, 27 years of age, Adress-Sixth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/04/2014 @ 10:45am

Charge: Serving Time:Driving Under Suspension, Child Restraint Violation; Imroper Turning;  Warrant: Terrebone Parish Authorities-Domestic Battery

Joseph Soto was transported to the Morgan City Police Department to serve time on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department as well as a warrant for Terrebone Parish authorities.  He was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Julia A. Johnson, 28 years of age, Address-Eleventh St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/04/2014 @ 10:50am

Charge: Simple Escape, Possession of a Legend Drug-Intuniv; Warrant: 2 Counts-St. Mary Parish:Failure to Comply with Drug Court

A patrolling officer observed Julia Johnson in the area of Garber St. and was aware of outstanding warrants for St. Mary Parish for failure to comply with terms of drug court.  The officer detained Johnson  and advised her of the warrants and placed her under arrest.  After escorting the subject to the unit for transport, the subject became combative and began to resist.  The subject began to flee from the officer and was able to partially break free from the handcuffs.  The officer was able to capture the subject who continued to resist.  Johnson was eventually subdued and placed in the rear of a police unit and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.  Upon arrival at the police department, Johnson made attempts to free herself from the restraints.  She was also found to be in possession of a Legend Drug-Intuniv without a prescription.  She was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Gary J. Johnson, 39 years of age, Address-Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/04/2014 @ 12:46pm

Charge: Warrant: Probation Violation

Gary Johnson was located by officers on Short St. Alley and placed under arrest for outstanding warrants for Department of Probation and Parole for probation violation.  Johnson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Brenda Blackenburg, 49 years of age, Address-Elaine St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/04/2014 @ 2:02pm

Charge: Theft of Goods (Value $9.67); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2nd Offense)

Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 supermarket in regards to a shoplifter.  Officers arrived and were advised by management that a female had been detained after she attempted to leave the premises without paying for $9.67 in goods.  The items were recovered.  The officer placed Blackenburg under arrest and located a pipe commonly used to ingest illegal narcotics in her possession.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Bethany R. Daigle, 22 years of age, Address-Arenz St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/04/2014 @ 5:15pm

Charge: Warrant: Cruelty to the Infirm; Warrant: Exploitation of the Infirm; Warrant: Unauthorized Use of an Access Card (Value $2,835.26)Felony

     On January 11, 2104, Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department began in investigation into cruetly to the infirmed.  Detectives investigating the complaint gathered evidence which indicated that subjects charged in the care of a 54 year old, infirmed female were alleged to have refused care, food and other needs which led to the female becoming severely malnourished and dehydrated.  A suspect, identified as Bethany Daigle was also accused of using the victims access card to commit the theft of $2,835.26 from the victim without her knowledge.  The victim in the incident was found in a malnourished  and dehydrated condition.  The living conditions were found to be unsanitary and unclean as if no assistance was provided for the victims care.  The victim, ultimately received the proper care and medical treatment after the incident was discovered.  
     On August 04, 2014, Detectives made contact with the suspect, Bethany Daigle and placed her under arrest on the outstanding warrants.  The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are expected.
