Nicole Sanders, 28  years of age, Address-Aucoin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/11/2014 @ 10:43am

Nicole Sanders was located at an Aucoin St. residence and arrested on an outstanding warrant for the City Court of Morgan City.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Leonard A. Yarborough,52 years of age, Address-Fourth St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 09/11/2014 @ 12:53pm

Charge: Attempted Theft (Under $500.00)

     Officers were dispatched to a Hwy 182 pharmacy in regards to a possible shoplifter.  Officers were advised that the subject had left the premises.  Officers located the subject as described by witnesses and identified him as Leonard Yarborough.  According to store personnel, Yarborough concealed bottles of alcoholic beverage and attempted to leave the store without paying for the items.  He was stopped by store personnel at which time he reportedly abandoned the items and left the premises.  Yarborough was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Battery on a Police Officer; Resisting an Officer with Force (2 Counts); Public Intimidation; Disturbing the Peace

Dillon R. Swanson, 17 years of age, Address-Freret St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/11/2014 @ 4:05pm

Charge: Disturbing the Peace; Resisting an Officer with Force; Criminal Damage to Property (Over $1,000.00); Public Intimidation

     Officers were dispatched to a Freret St. address regarding a disturbance and arrived to encounter a female attempting to clean up items from the front porch of the residence which were reportedly thrown during the disturbance.  As officers were speaking to the female, a male subject, Eric Swanson charged from the house and appeared to be agitated.  As the officer attempted to speak with Swanson, he turned, charged and attempted to strike the officer in the face.  The officer was able to fend off the attack and retrieve a Taser which according to reports, he then ordered Swanson to the ground.  Swanson refused and continued to attack the officer who deployed a Taser which incapacitated the subject.  The officer attempted to restrain Eric Swanson and place him into handcuffs as other officers arrived to assist.  Another male subject, Dillon Swanson charged from the house in a threatening manner towards officers breaking items as he moved towards the officers.  The officers ordered Dillon Swanson to cease.  He refused and had to be physically subdued and placed under arrest.  Both Dillon and Eric Swanson continued to threaten officers with harm.  As officers attempted to escort Eric Swanson to the police unit, he charged at officers again and was again subdued using a Taser.  He was placed in the rear of a police unit for transport to the Morgan City Police Department. Dillon Swanson, upon being escorted to the police unit, broke free from officers and kicked an unmarked police unit causing damages exceeding $1000.00.  He had to be physically restrained and placed in the rear of a marked unit.  Both subjects were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were placed in a holding cell until they could be processed.  The remain incarcerated. 

 

 

Amanda N. Francis-Martin, 32 years of age, Address-Mercury Rd. Bayou Vista, La. was arrested on 09/12/2014 @ 3:02am

Charge: Create/Operate a Clandestine Laboratory for the Unlawful Manufacture of CDS; Create/Operate a Clandestine Laboratory within 1000 ft. of school property; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription

Charles R. Mitchell, 34 years of age, Address-Highway 662 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/12/2014 @ 2:27am

Charge: Create/Operate a Clandestine Laboratory for the Unlawful Manufacture of CDS; Create/Operate a Clandestine Lab for Unlawful Manufacture of CDS within 1000 ft. of a School Zone; Possession of a Schedule III CDS-Narco; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Obstruction of Justice; Resisting an Officer

     Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a Brashear Ave. motel room in response to information suggesting that subjects were attempting to manufacture methamphetamine, a controlled substance.  Investigators arrived with the assistance of the St. Mary Parish Narcotics Unit to execute the warrant and located a male and female inside the apartment.  Investigators uncovered a clandestine laboratory and summoned a hazardous material clean up crew to the scene.  Officers also located items of drug paraphernalia.  The male, identified as Charles Mitchell was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he attempted to destroy several pills of a Schedule III CDS-Narco which he had hidden in his buttocks.  Mitchell was restrianed and the items recovered for evidence.  The female,Amanda N. Francis-Martin was found to possess Acetaminophin Butalbital, a legend drug without a valid prescription and was additionally charged.  Martin, who was discovered to be pregnant was transported to the Mrogan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.  Additional charges may be pending, depending on the outcome of the investigation regarding the unborn child. Both subjects remain incarcerated with no bond yet set.
