The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 09/19/2014:

 

 

Marjorie R. Ruffin, 24 years of age, Address-Franklin, La. was arrested on 09/19/2014 @ 11:20am

Lashawn M. Antoine, 21 years of age, Address-Franklin, La. was arrested on 09/19/2014 @ 11:20am

Charge: Disturbing the Peace by Fighting

     Lashwawn Antoine and Marjorie Ruffin, who were incarcerated in the Morgan City Police Department Jail facility were arrested and charged after they became involved in a physical encounter while incarcerated.  Both subjects were booked and remain incarcerated. 

 

 

Craig C. Nini, 33 years of age, Address-Berwick, La. was arrested on 09/20/2014 @ 3:57am

Charge: Possession of Schedule II CDs-Fentanyl/Morphine

     Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 convenience store in regards to suspected drug activity.  Officers arrived and located a subject, Craig Nini, who when approached by officers appeared extremely nervous.  Nini was questioned about why he was in the area.  A narcotics canine dog was utilized in a sweep of the suspect's vehicle.  The canine indicated the presence of the odor of illegal narcotics which resulted in a search of Nini's vehicle. Officers located a Fentanyl Patch, a Schedule II CDS in the subjects vehicle which the subject, Nini admitted possession.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Mykella L. Johnson, 27 years of age, Address-Berwick, La. was arrested on 09/20/2014 @ 5:11am

Charge: Reckless Operation of a Moving Vehicle with Accident; No Drivers License on Person

     Officers were dispatched to the area of Grizzaffi St. and Highway 182 in regards to a driver of a vehicle chasing another vehicle.  Officers arrived and observed a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner and appeared to be involved in some type of disturbance or altercation with the driver of another vehicle.  Officers detained the occupants of both vehicles and learned through statements that the driver, Mykella Johnson had observed the complainant and attempted to follow the complainant's vehicle.  During the altercation, Johnson, according to witnesses operated her vehicle in a reckless manner, attempting to swerve into the complainants vehicle.  During the encounter, the complainants vehicle and Johnson's vehicle collided.  The encounter was confirmed by a passenger in the victim's vehicle.  Mykella Johnson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Shannon L. Johnson, 36 years of age, Address-Dawn Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/20/2014 @ 7:19pm

Charge: Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated 2nd Offense; Speeding

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver of the vehicle, Shannon Johnson exhibited signs of impairment and was given a field sobriety test in which he did poorly on.  The subject, Johnson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .125g%.  Johnson, who has previously been convicted of a D.W.I. in 2009 was charged accordingly.  He was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Josue Reyes, 33 years of age, Address-Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/20/2014 @ 8:11pm

Charge: Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated; No Drivers License; Possession of Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle

     An officer was dispatched to Highway 182 in regards to a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner.  The officer located the vehicle as described near Roderick St. and Highway 182 and stopped the vehicle after it was observed being driven in an erratic manner.  The driver, identified as Josue Reyes exhibited signs of impairment and was observed to have open containers of alcoholic beverage inside his vehicle.  Reyes could not produce a valid drivers license and records indicated that he was an unlicensed driver.  Reyes was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .238g%.  Reyes was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Vernon J. Robin, 72 years of age, Address-First St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/21/2014 @ 1:09am

Charge: Improper Lane Usage; Driving While Intoxicted 1st Offense; Open Container of Alcoholic Beverage inside a Motor Vehicle

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner in the area of Highway 182 near Duke St. after the vehicle pulled into the path of the unit, almost causing a collision.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Vernon Robin.  Robin was found to exhibit signs of impairment and also found to be in possession of open containers of alcoholic beverage in his vehicle.  Robin was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .187g%.  Robin was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Ira Loushers, 55 years of age, Address-First St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/21/2014 @ 1:13am

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Appear-Drug Paraphernalia; Warrant: Contempt of Court-2 Counts; Warrant: Resisting an Officer

Ira Loushers

     Ira Loushers was located on Louisiana St. and arrested on several outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was transported to the Morgan City Jail facility where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Carloz Santos, 37 years of age, Address-Onstead St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/21/2014 @ 2:41am

Charge: Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated; No Driver's License; Improper Lane Usage

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner in the area of Cottonwood St. and Highway 182 after the vehicle swerved into on coming traffic in front of the police unit.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Carloz Santos who could not produce a valid drivers license.  Santos, exhibited signs of impairment and could not complete a field sobriety test.  He was transported ot the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .224g%.  He was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Ciera C. Thomas, 25 years of age, Address-Highway 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/21/2014 @ 2:42am

Charge: Warrant: St. Mary Parish-Failure to Appear-Revocation Hearing

     Ciera Thomas was located at a Highway 182 apartment complex and placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Sixteenth Judicial District Court.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Thomas Remedies, 21 years of age, Address-Second St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/21/2014 @ 7:04am

Charge: Appearing in Public Intoxicated; Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids (5th Offense)

Thomas Remedies

     Officers were dispatched to a Third St. residence in regards to a suspicous subject.  Officers arrived and located the subject who was identified as Thomas Remedies.  Remedies was found to be impaired and also found to be in possession of synthetic marijuana which was also seized.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Bradley D. Talbert, 21 years of age, Address-Brunswick, Ga. was arrested on 09/21/2014 @ 11:31pm

     Bradley Talbert was arrested after officers were dispatched to the area of Franklin St. regarding a white male subject walking, screaming profanities and causing a disturbance.  Talbert was located in the area and identified as the subject.  Talbert exhibited signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
