The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 09/07/2016. 

Orrando Guidry, 45 years of age, Address: Florida St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/07/2016 @ 10:42am. 

Charge:  
Theft of Goods

     An officer responded to a local super market on Brashear Avenue in regard to a report of a shoplifter. The officer arrived and spoke with store employees who told the officer that Orrando Guidry was inside the store when Guidry concealed an item on his person valued at $6.49. During an investigation, reports indicate that evidence of the alleged theft was uncovered by the officer. Guidry, who was present was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Christian J Gil Jr., 23 years of age, Address: Saturn Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/07/2016 @ 3:55pm. 

Charge:  Simple Burglary

     On August 20, 2016, the Morgan City Police Department Criminal Investigations Division began an investigation of a reported burglary of a local business on Hwy 182. During this investigation, Christian J Gil Jr. was developed as a suspected in the alleged burglary. On September 7, 2016 Gil Jr. came to the Morgan City Police Department where Gil Jr. spoke with investigators about the incident at which time evidence of  Gil Jr.'s involvment in the alleged burglary was uncovered. Gil Jr. was placed under arrest and booked into the Morgan City Jail where he was incarcerated. 

Christopher Sylvester, 20 years of age, Address: Short St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/08/2016 @ 4:08am.

Charge:  Resisting An Officer

     A patrolling officer observed a subject walking through several residential yards in the area of Federal Avenue near Egle Street. The officer stopped and made contact with the subject who was later identified as Christopher Sylvester. During an investigation, reports indicate that Sylvester's behavior aroused that officer's suspicions that he may be involved in criminal activity. According to reports, Sylvester began shouting at the officer and approached the officer in an aggressive stance refusing to obey the officer's commands. Sylvester was placed under arrest at which time he continued to disobey the offier's instructions but was placed into handcuffs moments later. Sylvester was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
