The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 11/04/2016.


Jose F Zuniga, 20 years of age, Address: Chennault St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/04/2016 @ 11:19am.

Charge:  Theft

     Morgan City Police Department Detectives conducted an investigation of a theft reported on November 01, 2016 at a local retail store on Hwy 182. During the course of the investigation Jose F Zuniga was developed as a suspect in the alleged theft. On November 4, 2016, Zuniga came to the Morgan City Police Department to speak with the detectives in regard to the investigation. Evidence of the alleged theft valued at $918.96 was uncovered by detectives at which time Zuniga was placed under arrest and booked into the Morgan City Jail where he was incarcerated.

Elder R Portillo, 29 years of age, Address: Village Ln, Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/05/2016 @ 12:40pm.

Charges:  Obstructing a Public Roadway
                  No Drivers License

     Officers responded to Aycock Street in regard to a reported vehicle crash. During the investigation, officers identified Elder R Portillo as the driver of one of the vehicle involved. Reports indicated that Elder R Portillo was obstructing the roadway which contributed to the crash and that Portillo did not have a valid drivers license. Portillo was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Carole L Lewis, 49 years of age, Address: Westside Blvd. Houma, La. was arrested on 11/05/2016 @ 8:17pm.

Charge:  Disturbing the Peace

     A patrolling officers observed a female who appeared to be unsteady on her feet walking on the shoulder of U.S. 90 bridge. The officers stopped and spoke with the female identified as Carole L Lewis who was suspected to have been drinking and was believed to be intoxicated. Lewis was placed under arrest and transported to the Moran City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Guadalupe Maldonado, 62 years of age, Address: Grove St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/05/2016 @ 9:54pm.

Charge:  Warrant - Failure to Appear on 05/31/16 for No Vehicle Insurance

Tammy S Fitch, 56 years of age, Address: Hwy 90 Patterson,  La. was arrested on 11/05/2016 @ 9:55pm.

Charges:  Domestic Abuse Battery
                  Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

     Officers responded to Kidd Street near Federal Avenue in regard to a fight involving a male and a female.  As the officers arrived, a female identified as Tammy S Fitch was observed committing a battery on a male subject identified as Guadalupe Maldonado according to report. During an investigation, officers were told that Maldonado and Fitch were at a residence when they began to argue. Maldonado attempted to leave the residence when Fitch allegedly committed a battery on Maldonado.  Reports indicate that officers suspected that Fitch had been drinking and was suspected to be intoxicated. A warrant check revealed that Maldonado had an active arrest warrant through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Both Fitch and Maldonado were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

James C Daub, 56 years of age, Address: Carol St. Moran City, La. was arrested on 11/05/2016 10:28pm.

Charges:  Driving While Intoxicated
                  Failure to Driver to Change Address on Drivers License

Susette Anslum, 41 years of age, Address: Two Sisters Ct. Bayou Vista, La. was arrested on 11/04/2016 @ 10:28pm.

Charges:  Possession of Marijuana
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                  Violation of Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Laws (Drug Free Zone)

     Officers responded to the area of the U.S. 90 Hwy 182 intersection in regard to a report of a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner. A description was provided when officers located a vehicle matching the description on Hwy 182 near Redwood Street. A traffic stop was conducted when James C Daud was identified as the driver of the vehicle and Susette Anslum as a passenger. During an investigation, reports indicate that Daub was suspected to have been drinking and was believed to be intoxicated.  Anslum's behavior aroused the officer's suspicions that she may be involved in illegal narcotics activity. A search was conducted when officers located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia on Anslum.  The location of the incident was within the area of a drug free zone in violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws. Amslum was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated. Daub was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for further chemical testing where Daub submitted to the Intoxilyzer 5000 yielding a blood alcohol concentration of .125 grams percent. Daub was placed under arrest and booked into the Morgan City Jail.

Nigel M Smith, 36 years of age, Address: Victor II Blvd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/05/2016 @ 11:50pm.

Charges:  Possession of Marijuana
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

      A patrolling officer observed a parked vehicle with the interior light on at a residence on Cottonwood Street. Officers investigated the vehicle to see if had been burglarized when officers observed suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The officers made contact with Migel M Smith at the residence on Cottonwood Street who told officers he was the owner of the vehicle. Reports indicated that when questioned, Smith told officers that the suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia was indeed his. Smith was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Raul O Neverez, 54 years of age, Address: Mallard St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/06/2016 @ 12:41am.

Charges:  Simple Burglary
                  Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

     A patrolling officer observed a suspicious subject walking in the area of Eighth Street getting into a parked vehicle near Florence Street. The officer stop and identified the subject as Raul O Neverez who appeared to be rummaging through the vehicle. Neverez was detained when officers made contact with the owner of the vehicle who told officers that Neverez did not have permission to be inside the vehicle. Neverez who according to reports was suspected to have been drinking and was believed to be intoxicated, was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
