The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 01/18/2017.

Trent A. Giroir, 19 years of age, Address- Morringsport, La. was arrested on 01/18/2017 @ 4:05 pm.

Charge:  Warrant- Failure to Appear for Possession of Marijuana
                 Warrant- Failure to Appear for Driving Under Suspension
                 Warrant- Failure to Appear for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Warrant- Failure to Appear for No Turn Signal

   Trent Giroir was transported from the Assumption Parish Jail to the Morgan City Police Department for active warrants he held for the Sixth Ward City Court. Giroir was booked and incarcerated.

Linda M. Fontenot, 29 years of age, Address- Lafayette, La. was arrested on 01/18/2017 @ 6:08 pm.

Charge:  Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

   Officers responded to a local hotel on Hwy 182 in regard to an individual in the lobby causing a disturbance. Officers arrived and made contact with Linda Fontenot. Officers could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath. While speaking to officers, Fontenot became loud and using profanities. Fontenot was told to calm down several times, but refused. Fontenot was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
