The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 01/19/2017:

Floyd Malveaux Jr., 35 years of age, Address- Trevino St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 01/19/2017 @ 10:57.

Charge: 
 Possession of Cocaine

                Violation of Uniform CDS- Drug Free Zone

                Expired License Plate

   Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division were on patrol in the area of Pecos  and Patton St., when they observed a vehicle with an expired license plate. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Floyd Malveaux was asked to produce a valid driver's license. While speaking to Malveaux, one of the officers noticed three pieces of suspected crack cocaine on the driver side floor board of the vehicle. Malveaux was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. The area of the traffic stop was within 2000 feet of an elementary school, which is considered a drug free zone.


Burkin Duqre, 31 years of age, Address- Cross Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/19/2017 @ 10:37 am.

Charge:  Warrant-Probation Violation (2cts)

                 Warrant- Failure to Pay Fine for Possession of Marijuana

 
   Burkin Dupre was located at a residence on Fifth St.  A warrants check was done Dupre and it was determined that he held active warrants for the Sixth Ward City Court. Dupre was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for bookng and incarceration.


Gersson S. Viniegra, 32 years of age, Address- Main St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 01/20/2017 @ 12:22 am.

Charge:  Warrant- Failure to Pay Probation Fees

   Gersson Viniegra was located at a local hotel on Roderick St. A warrants check was done Viniegra and it was determined that he held an active warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court. Viniegra was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
