MCPD Arrest Report 03/14/2017
The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 03/13/2017.
Christopher A. Sylvester, 25 years of age, address: James Street Morgan City, La was arrested on 03/13/2017 @ 10:07 P.M.
Charges: Simple Burglary
Officers responded to the area of Terrebonne Street in regard to a report of a burglary in progress. Officers arrived and Christopher A. Sylvester was identified as a suspect of forcibly gaining entry into the residence and stealing a cellular phone belonging to the victim according to reports. Officers located Sylvester in the area moments later and during an investigation officers uncovered evidence of the alleged burglary. Sylvester was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Theresa Trahan, 29 years of age, address: Palmisano Drive Houma, La was arrested on 03/14/2017 @ 12:00 A.M.
Charges: Warrant:Failure to Appear on 01/31/2017 Expired License Plate
Theresa Trahan was arrested at the Morgan City Police Department in regard to an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Trahan was booked and incarcerated into the Morgan City Jail.
Joshua N. Bertrand, 38 years of age, address: Levee Road Morgan City, La was arrested on 03/14/2017 @ 04:30 A.M.
Charges: Theft by Shoplifting
Officers responded to a local business in the area of Marguerite Street in regard to a report of a shoplifter. Officers arrived and spoke with store employees who told officers that Joshua N. Bertrand was observed in the store taking items and concealing them on his person. Bertrand attempted to leave the store when he was confronted by store employees. Bertrand removed the merchandise from his person and placed them on the counter valued at $53.49 and fled the area. Bertrand was located by officers in the area moments later at which time he was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
