Chief Chad M. Adams announces the arrest of Joey Jermaine Francois, 45, of Aucoin Street, Morgan City, following a continued narcotics investigation conducted by the Morgan City Police Department.

According to reports, Francois was initially arrested on multiple narcotics charges stemming from a search warrant executed at his residence on Aucoin Street on February 16, 2026.

On February 20, 2026, investigators with the Morgan City Narcotics Division received information indicating that Francois may have had additional illicit contraband located in the Siracusaville and Amelia areas. Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department collaborated with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division to execute a search warrant and searches at two separate locations.

During the searches, investigators located multiple firearms and three homemade explosive devices inside a bag that was allegedly identified as belonging to Francois. Due to the nature of the devices, investigators immediately contacted the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Louisiana State Police for assistance.

Upon arrival, agents safely neutralized and rendered the explosive devices safe.

A subsequent search warrant was executed at Francois' residence, where investigators located an additional homemade explosive device. That device was also safely neutralized by ATF and Louisiana State Police personnel.

As a result of the investigation, warrants were obtained for Francois' arrest on charges of Manufacture and Possession of a Bomb.

The investigation into the incidents in the Siracusaville and Amelia areas remains ongoing by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office.
