On the evening of April 14, 2026, members of the Morgan City Police Department, along with other local agencies, gathered for a special ceremony recognizing each agency's top officers of the year.

During this event, Morgan City Police Chief Chad M. Adams recognized K-9 Officer Ricardo Aguilar as the Morgan City Police Department's Officer of the Year. Officer Aguilar consistently demonstrates a high level of professionalism in everything he does. He takes pride in mentoring and encouraging younger officers, often assisting them with additional training to help them grow in their careers.

In addition to his work in the K-9 division, Officer Aguilar serves as one of only four bilingual translators within the Morgan City Police Department. He is routinely called upon at all hours of the day and night, playing a critical role in ensuring clear communication and effective service to our community.

Officer Aguilar is a tremendous asset to the Morgan City Police Department and, even more importantly, to the citizens of Morgan City. He never hesitates and always answers the call to serve the citizens of Morgan City. This recognition is a direct reflection of his dedication, leadership, and commitment to those he serves.
