Morgan City Man arrested on Drug and Firearm Charges

Morgan City Man Arrested on Multiple Narcotics, Firearms, and Warrant Charges
Chief Chad M. Adams announces the arrest of Joey Jermaine Francois, 45, of Aucoin Street, Morgan City, following an investigation conducted by the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division.
On the morning of February 16, 2026, detectives with the Morgan City Police Department's Narcotics Division conducted a traffic stop involving Francois. During the course of the investigation, detectives also executed a narcotics search warrant at Francois' residence located on Aucoin Street in Morgan City.
During the traffic stop and execution of the search warrant, detectives located and seized suspected illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia, U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from narcotics transactions, and a firearm. As a result, Francois was placed under arrest and charged with the following offenses:
Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended License
Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II Methamphetamine (over 28 grams)
Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drug Offenses
Violation of a Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law - Drug-Free Zone
Possession of Schedule II Fentanyl
Possession of Schedule IV Phentermine
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Possession of a Legend Drug
In addition to the above charges, Francois was found to have multiple outstanding warrants.
Through the 6th Ward City Court, Francois had warrants for Failure to Appear to Pay Fines on the following dates:
December 9, 2025
January 14, 2026
January 13, 2026 (2 counts)
November 4, 2025
February 13, 2025
January 13, 2025
Francois also had an outstanding warrant through the St. Mary's Parish Sheriff's Office for Failure to Appear on April 16, 2025.
Francois was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for processing and later booked into the Morgan City Jail.
