On September 24, 2025, the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division assisted our partners with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in an attempt to locate and detain Mr. Cesar Lozano-Flores in regard to a federal investigation.

Agents initiated a traffic stop on Lozano-Flores' vehicle near Hwy 182. He refused to exit the vehicle and instead fled the scene, leading officers on a pursuit through the city during the early morning hours. Lozano-Flores was observed discarding numerous bags containing what appeared to be cocaine from his vehicle during pursuit.

The pursuit concluded on Hwy 182 near Ditch Avenue, where investigators successfully apprehended Lozano-Flores. Several bags of suspected cocaine were recovered along the pursuit route. A subsequent search warrant executed at his residence which resulted in the seizure of additional suspected cocaine and a large sum of U.S. currency believed to be derived from illicit narcotic sales.

Lozano-Flores was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he awaits judicial proceedings.
