MCPD Arrest Report 3/23/2020

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 80 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 3/20/2020:
Jasmine M Dupont

Jasmine Marie Dupont, 21 years of age, Address- Bayou Black Dr., Gibson, La., was arrested on 3/20/2020 at 3:50 P.M.

Charge: Stop Sign Violation
               View Outward or Inward Through Windshield
               Turn Signal Violation
               Possession of Marijuana (1st Offense)
               Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
               Possession of CDS Sch. IV - Alprazolam
               Possession of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute
               Transactions involving Proceeds from CDS Activity
               Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

An officer observed a traffic violation in the area of U.S. 90 and Martin Luther King Blvd. The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Jasmine M. Dupont. During the traffic stop, the officer detected the odor of marijuana emitting from her vehicle. K-9 Dally was deployed around the exterior of the vehicle and indicated the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. Upon officers searching the vehicle officers located suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, heroin and $341.00. The suspected heroin had a street value of approximately $1,050.00. Jasmine M. Dupont was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 35 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 3/18/2020:
jonathan motte
Jonathan Jermaine Motte, 36 years of age, Address-Oak St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 3/18/2020 at 1:37 P.M.

Charge: View Outward or Inward through Windshield
               Expired Driver's License
               Possession of Marijuana (2nd Offense)
               Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
               Violation of Uniform CDS Laws-Drug Free Zone

Morgan City Police Department Narcotic Detectives were patrolling the area of Railroad Ave. and Headland St. when they observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. Investigators conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Jonathan J. Motte. A computer check revealed his driver's license was under suspension. During the traffic investigation, Matte was found in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Georgianna Jacqulin Sweetser, 52 years of age, Address-Stacy St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 3/18/2020 at 4:25 P.M.

Charge: Possession of Marijuana (1st Offense)
               Possession of Schedule IV CDS- Clonazepam
               Possession of Methamphetamine- Less than 2 Grams

Morgan City Police Department Narcotic Detectives were patrolling the area of Fifth St. and Florence St. when they observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. During the traffic investigation, detectives came in contact with the passenger, Georgianna J. Sweetser. She was found in possession of suspected marijuana, methamphetamine, and Clonazepam. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 35 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 3/17/2020:

Kathleen Ceasar Nero, 55 years of age, Address-Southeast Blvd., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 3/17/2020 at 4:02 P.M.

Charge: Theft under $1,000.00
               Access Device Fraud
               Stop Sign Violation
               Driving Under Suspension
               Possession of Sch. II CDS Acetaminophen Hydrocodone
               Bitartrate

Officers were called to a local business on Brashear Ave. about a theft. Upon the officer's arrival, they learned from the victim they had left their purse at the business by accident. Officers were able to review security footage from the business and observed an individual pick up the victim's purse and leave the business. During the investigation, officers were able to identify the individual as Kathleen Ceasar Nero. It was learned after the victim's purse was stolen the victim's credit card was utilized. Officers were called by the victim, reporting Kathleen Nero had come to her residence in an attempt to return their purse. When the victim contacted the police, Nero fled the area in a vehicle. Officers were able to stop the vehicle Nero was driving in the area of Clothilde St. and Sixth St for a traffic violation. It was learned Nero attempt to make a purchase with the victim's credit card. Officers were able to recover the victim's purse and some of its contents. Nero was placed under arrest. During the arrest, she was found in possession of Acetaminophen Hydrocodone Bitartrate which is a control substance. She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Taylor M. Richard, 22 years of age, Address-Willow St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 3/17/2020 at 6:30 P.M.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace

Officers were called to a disturbance on Willow St. Upon officer's arrival, they identified Taylor M. Richard as the person causing the disturbance. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
