MCPD Arrest Report for 03/09/2020

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded 124 to calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 03/06/2020:

Gerald Cooks, 58 years of age, Fourth St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on 03/06/2020 at 9:56 am

Charges: Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling

Officers contacted Cooks during a traffic stop for speeding.  During the stop, a warrants check on Cooks showed an outstanding warrant from Morgan City Police Department.  The warrant for Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited dwelling stemmed from an incident in December of 2019.  Cooks was arrested and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking.


Shannon Brown, 37 Years of age, Loire Ave, Lafayette, LA was arrested on 03/06/2020 at 10:00 am

Charges: Warrant City Court of Morgan City for FTA to Pay Probation Fee
                Warrant City Court of Morgan City for FTA for Contempt of Court

Brown was transported form Lafayette Correctional Facility on warrants from City Court of Morgan City.  Brown was booked into the Morgan
City Police Department Jail and Booked


Demarcus Roy, 27 years of age, Mallard St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on 03/07/2020 at 9:01 pm

Charges: Warrant-City Court of Morgan City FTA to Pay Fine
                Warrant-City Court of Morgan City FTA to Pay Probation Fee

While officers were investigating a complaint on General Hodges St. they came into contact with Roy who had warrants from City Court of Morgan City.  Roy was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.



Juan Carlos Sierra, 30 years of age, Berwick, LA was arrested on 03/08/2020 at 12:21 pm

Charges: No Drivers License
                 Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense

Officers responded to a complaint of a reckless driver on Hwy 182.  Officers located the vehicle as it was turning into a local business and contacted the driver. While speaking with the driver it was learned that he did not have a driver's license.  The officer also suspected that Sierra did was intoxicated.  Sierra was given a field sobriety test which he did poorly on.  Sierra was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was given a chemical test for intoxication with the results of .196 g%.  Sierra was booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail.

Charges: Reckless Operation of a vehicle
                Improper Lane Use
                Possession of Sch II-Cocaine

An officer traveling on Hwy 182 observed a vehicle being driven recklessly.  The officer stopped the vehicle near MLK Blvd and Allison St.  The driver refused to exit his vehicle when advised to do so.  The driver finally exited the vehicle but had to be restrained.  After being placed under arrest officers located a white powder suspected to be cocaine.  De La Rosa_Jua was placed under arrested and booked into the Morgan City Police Department.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 40 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 3/5/2020:

Kaleb Meadows, 21 years of age, Address-Trevino St., Berwick, La., was arrested on 3/5/2020 at 8:50 A.M.

Warrant: Failure to Appear

Kaleb Meadows was located at St. Mary Law Enforcement Center and placed under arrest on an active warrant held by the City Court of Morgan City. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Kerry Anthony Guidry, 54 years of age, Address-Louis Morel Lane, Buras, La., was arrested on 3/5/2020 at 12:56 P.M.

Warrants: Failure to Appear (3 Counts)

Kerry Anthony Guidry was located at Plaquemines Parish Prison and placed under arrest on active warrants held by the City Court of Morgan City. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Travis Lloyd Burgess, 42 years of age, Address-Hilda St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 3/5/2020 at 3:30 P.M.

Warrant: Disturbing the Peace Fighting

Travis Lloyd Burgess turned himself into the Morgan City Police Department on an active warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department. He was booked and incarcerated.

Dylan Joseph Theriot, 19 years of age, Address-River Road, Pierre Part, La., was arrested on 3/5/2020 at 9:16 P.M.

Charge: Two Brake Lights Required

Warrant: Failure to Appear

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Brashear Ave. and Federal Ave. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Dylan J. Theriot. A warrant check revealed the City Court of Morgan City held an active warrant for his arrest. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 48 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 3/4/2020:

Chastity Buford, 44 years of age, Address-Prarie Road, Franklin, La., was arrested on 3/4/2020 at 12:55 P.M.

Warrant: Disturbing the Peace

Chastity Buford turned herself in on an active warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department. She was booked and incarcerated at the Morgan City Police Department.

Dean Joseph Beranek, 34 years of age, Address-Burchfield Lane, Berwick, La., was arrested on 3/4/2020 at 4:47 P.M.

Charge: Remaining after Forbidden

Officers were called to a residence on Ditch Ave. for a disturbance. Upon officer's arrival, they learned Dean Beranek came to the residence and caused a disturbance. During the investigation, officers learned Beranek was previously barred from the property. Officers were able to located Beranek and place him under arrest. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Brandy L. Johnson, 32 years of age, Address-North 8th St., Thibodaux, La., was arrested on 3/4/2020 at 6:34 P.M.

Charge: Remaining after Forbidden

Officers were called to a residence on Apple St. for a disturbance. Upon officer's arrival, they came into contact with Brandy L. Johnson. Officers learned Johnson had been previously barred from the property. She was placed under arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
