Melvin C. Sylvester, 36 years of age, Address: James Street, Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/30/2015 @ 8:48 A.M.


Charge: Warrant for Probation Violation

     Melvin Sylvester was transported from Hunts Correctional Facility to the Morgan City Police Dept. in regards to an arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward City Court.  Sylvester was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Tyrone Singleton, 29 years of age, Address: Gibson, La. was arrested on 09/30/2015 @ 10:02 P.M.


Charges: Driving with a Suspeded Drivers License
                 Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle with an Accident
                 Warrant - Failure to Appear to Pay Fines (Loud Music)
                 Warrant - Failuare to Appear to Pay Fines (Open Container)
     An officer responded to U.S. 90 West in regards to assisting the Louisiana State Police attempting to catch up with a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.  Shortly after it was learned that the vehicle was involved in a crash on U.S. 90 near the Martin Luther King Blvd. exit. The officer then came into contact with the driver of the vehicle who was identified as Tyrone Singleton. A drivers license check was conducted and according to reports it was determined that Singleton had a suspended drivers license. A warrants check was conducted and it was learned that the 6th Ward City Court held arrest warrants on Singleton. Singleton was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Dept. where he was booked and incarcerated.
