MCPD Arrest Report 10/09/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 100 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 10/06/2017:

Lawrence A. Garrett, 21 years of age, address: Florida St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/06/2017 @ 8:06 a.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH I CDS (Synthetic Marijuana)
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug-Free Zone)

Brodie Boudreaux, 23 years of age, address: McDermott Dr. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/06/2017 @ 8:38 a.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH I CDS (Synthetic Marijuana)
                  Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug-Free Zone)

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division came in contact with Lawrence A Garret and Brodie Boudreaux at a local motel in the area of LA 182. According to reports, Garrett and Boudreaux were found to be in possession of suspected Synthetic Marijuana. Garrett was also found to be in possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The area where the incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone. Garrett and Boudreaux were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Troy Carswell 10092017

Troy S. Carswell, 47 years of age, address: Lottie Ln. Grovetown, GA., arrested on 10/06/2017 @ 12:46 p.m.

Charges: Sexual Battery
                 Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

Patrol officers responded to a local business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a suspicious subject. Officers arrived and Troy S. Carswell was identified. According to reports, Carswell was found to be in an intoxicated state. It was also found during the investigation that Carswell allegedly committed a sexual battery on a female while in the establishment. Carswell was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Ashley Clark 10092017

Ashley Clark, 32 years of age, address: Ricohoc, La., arrested on 10/06/2017 @ 3:39 p.m.

Charges: Theft by Shoplifting

Patrol officers responded to a business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a shoplifter. Officers arrived and Ashley Clark was identified. Clark allegedly had taken merchandise valued at $689.94 with out purchasing it. Clark was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

David A. Turner, 26 years of age, address: Monarch St. Houma, La., arrested on 10/07/2017 @ 1:06 a.m.

Charges: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 07/14/2015
                 F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 09/29/2015

David A. Turner was located and arrested in the area of Front St. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Turner was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Brittan M. Boudreaux, 32 years of age, address: Lizabeth Dr. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/07/2017 @ 9:52 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine 09/28/2017 (5 Counts)
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Patrol officers responded to the area of McDermott Dr. in regards to a suspicious subject. According to reports, officers arrived and Brittan M. Boudreaux was identified. It was found that Boudreaux held several active arrest warrants through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Boudreaux was also found to be in possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Boudreaux was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Travis Hayes, 38 years of age, address: Federal Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/07/2017 @ 1:33 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Simple Assault

Travis Hayes was located and arrested in the area of Sixth St. on an active warrant for his arrest held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on July 29, 2017, when Hayes allegedly committed an assault on the victim. Hayes had already departed the area, therefore, a warrant was prepared for his arrest. Hayes was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Stephen Cortez, 51 years of age, address: Second St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/07/2017 @ 7:49 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated


Roslyn Cortez, 52 years of age, address: Second St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/07/2017 @ 7:49 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

Patrol officers responded to the area of Second St. in regards to two subjects arguing in the roadway. According to reports, officers arrived and Stephen and Roslyn Cortez were identified as the two subjects arguing. Stephen and Roslyn were both found to be in an intoxicated state. Stephen and Roslyn were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

John Gibson, 53 years of age, address: Oak St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/07/2017 @ 11:31 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 07/21/2015

John Gibson located and arrested in the area of Oak St. on an active warrant for his arrest held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Gibson was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Santos Rivera, 27 years of age, address: Chapa St. Pharr TX., arrested on 10/08/2017 @ 12:15 a.m.

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 Improper Lane Usage
                 Improper Turning
                 No Driver’s License
                 Open Container of Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 swerving from lane to lane. The vehicle was also observed negotiating an improper turn. A stop was initiated and Santos Rivera was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Rivera was found to be in an intoxicated state. It was also found that Rivera did not possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License and he was in possession of an open container of alcohol in the motor vehicle. Rivera was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing which he refused. Rivera was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Alex Francois, 38 years of age, address: Hwy 182 Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/08/2017 @ 4:19 a.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug-Free Zone)

Patrol officers responded to a local motel in the area of LA 182 in regards to a narcotics complaint. According to reports, officers arrived and Alex Francois was identified. Francois was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. The area where this incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone. Francois was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jose M. Aleman, 46 years of age, address: Spruce St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/085/2017 @ 10:54 a.m.

Charges: Improper Turning
                 No Driver’s License

Patrol officers observed a vehicle negotiate an improper turn in the area of LA 182. A stop was initiated and Jose M. Aleman was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Aleman was found not to possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. Aleman was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jacob N. Klenert, 23 years of age, address: S. Everett St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/08/2017 @ 11:35 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Review on 07/18/2017
                Warrant: F.T.A. for Trial on 9/11/2017 (16th Judicial Court)

Jacob N. Klenert was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City and 16th Judicial Courts. Klenert was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Sarah N. Pierce, 23 years of age, address: Lawson St. Austin, TX., arrested on 10/08/2017 @ 5:15 p.m.

Charges: Battery on a Correctional Officer

Correction Officers were dealing with Sarah N. Pierce during a standard move from one cell to another while she was incarcerated into the Morgan City Jail. According to reports, while placing Pierce into handcuffs she pulled away and allegedly struck a correctional officer. Pierce was charged and incarcerated into the Morgan City Jail.
