MCPD Arrest Report 11/07/2017
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 32 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 11/06/2017:
Heather V. Welch, 26 years of age, address: Jones St. Berwick, La., arrested on 11/06/2017 @ 10:25 a.m.
Charges: Warrant: Possession of SCH II CDS W/I/T/D (Methamphetamine)
Heather V. Welch was located and arrested in the area of Everett St. on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on October 13, 2017, when officers observed a female acting in a suspicious manner in the area of Seventh St. Officers stopped and spoke with the female who was identified as Welch. Welch was found to be in possession of suspected Methamphetamine to which she allegedly admitted that the illicit drug was destined to be sold. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Welch’s arrest. Welch was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Wilbert Granger Jr., 65 years of age, address: Joseph St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/06/2017 @ 7:36 p.m.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana
Improper Turning
Speeding 70 mph in a 45 mph Zone
Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area Grizzaffi St. negotiate an improper turn. The vehicle was also observed in the area of LA 182 traveling at speeds of 70 mph in a 45 mph zone. A stop was initiated and Wilbert Granger Jr. was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Granger was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana. Granger was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
