MCPD Arrest Report 11/08/2017
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 38 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 11/07/2017:
Dezzie J. Booty, 38 years of age, address: Maple St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/07/2017 @ 12:15 p.m.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana
Possession of an Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle
Improper Turning
Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Duke St. negotiate an improper turn. A stop was initiated and Dezzie J. Booty was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Booty was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana and an open alcoholic beverage in the motor vehicle. Booty was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Improper Lane Usage
Texting while Driving
Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 and the operator of the vehicle was observed texting while driving. The vehicle was also observed swerving, nearly leaving the roadway. A stop was initiated and Kimberly M. Jones was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Jones was found to be in possession of suspected Alprazolam, Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia. Jones was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Tiffany R. Guidry, 30 years of age, address: Hwy 182 Franklin, La., arrested on 11/07/2017 @ 4:00 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Contempt of Court
Tiffany R. Guidry was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Guidry was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

David A. Turner, 26 years of age, address: Monarch St. Houma, La., arrested on 11/07/2017 @ 6:37 p.m.
Charges: Resisting an Officer
Battery on a Correctional Officer
Battery on a Police Officer
Disarming a Police Officer
Patrol and Correction Officers responded to the Morgan City Jail in regards to a combative inmate. According to reports, officers arrived and David A. Turner was identified as the inmate involved. During the encounter Turner allegedly struck patrol and correction officers and attempted disarm two officers of their “Taser”. Turner was eventually subdued and placed into a holding cell. Turner was booked on the additional charges and incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail.
