MCPD Arrest Report 12/20/2017
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 44 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 12/18/2017:
Kaleb W. Smith, 17 years of age, address: Maple St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 12/19/2017 @ 3:08 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Simple Burglary (6 Counts)
Kaleb W. Smith was located and arrested in the area of Maple St. on several active arrest warrants held by the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office. Smith was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Breunna Fitch, 23 years of age, address: Hilda St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 12/19/2017 @ 8:55 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Criminal Mischief
Patrol officers responded to the area of Hilda St. in regards to a disturbance on December 9, 2017. Officers arrived and spoke with Breunna Fitch who made an allegation that a subject had pointed a weapon at her. During the course of the investigation, it was learned that the information that Fitch provided was found to be false and evidence was uncovered that Fitch was not truthful when filing the original report with officers. A warrant was prepared for Fitch’s arrest. Fitch was located by the Berwick Police Department at a local business at which time she was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Keishia L. Howard, 41 years of age, address: Mount St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 12/19/2017 @ 10:21 p.m.
Charges: Vicious Dogs or Animals Prohibited

Dog Fighting
Keishia L. Howard was located and arrested in the area of Mount St. on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on December 2, 2017, when officers discovered several pit bulls at a residence on Mount St. belonging to Howard. The animals were found to be in poor condition without proper shelter. Evidence was uncovered that the animals had injuries consistent with Dog Fighting and were not being properly cared for with adequate food and water. The investigation continued and the dogs were seized and removed from the residence. Warrants were prepared for Howard’s arrest. Howard was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Javien J. Francis, 20 years of age, address: Oregon St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 12/19/2017 @ 11:51 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Failure to Comply with the Condition of Drug Court
Javien J. Francis was located and arrested in the area of LA 182 on an active arrest warrant held by the 16th Judicial Court. Francis was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
David L. Lumpkin, 46 years of age, address: St. Francis St. Houma, La., arrested on 12/20/2017 @ 2:19 a.m.
Charges: Fugitive
Patrol officers conducted a stop on a vehicle in which David L. Lumpkin was the operator in the area of LA 182. During the course of the investigation Lumpkin was found to have an active arrest warrant through the Thibodaux Police Department. Lumpkin was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
