MCPD Arrest Report 03/15/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 44 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 03/14/2018:

Carl Allen Jr 03142018

Carl W. Allen Jr., 26 years of age, address: Wren St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/14/2018 @ 2:13 p.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH I CDS (MDMA)
                 Disregard of Traffic Controls

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Freret St. disregard a traffic control. A stop was initiated and Carl W. Allen Jr. was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, an odor of marijuana was detected emitting from the vehicle. Allen denied consent to search when K-9 Buddy with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office K-9 Section was utilized and detected the presence of narcotic odor. Allen was found to be in possession of suspected MDMA. Allen was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jourdan C. Bartley, 24 years of age, address: Bernice St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/14/2018 @ 6:15 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Possession of Marijuana
                 Warrant: Improper Lighting

Jourdan C. Bartley was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by the Morgan City Police Narcotics Division when investigators observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Freret St. with improper lighting. A stop was initiated and Jourdan C. Bartley was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Bartley was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Bartley’s arrest. Bartley was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Gregg J. Babineaux, 59 years of age, address: Hibou Rd. Carencro, La., arrested on 03/14/2018 @ 6:32 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

Patrol officers responded to the area of LA 182 in regards to a suspicious subject. Officers arrived and Gregg J. Babineaux was identified. According to reports, Babineaux was found to be in an intoxicated state. Babineaux was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Donte’ J. Harris, 22 years of age, address: Mount St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/14/2018 @ 10:40 p.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana 2nd Offense
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Resisting an Officer by Giving False Information
                 Resisting an Officer
                 Warrant: Simple Battery

Patrol officers encountered Donte’ J. Harris in the area of Federal Ave. According to reports, during the initial contact with Harris he provided officers with a false name. Harris was found to hold an active arrest warrant through the Patterson Police Department. Harris was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. When Harris was taken into custody he began to resist officers. Harris was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Kenny L. Woods, 44 years of age, address: Cigarette Hollow Dante, VA, arrested on 03/15/2018 @ 5:18 a.m.

Charges: Aggravated Assault

Patrol officers responded to a local hotel in the area of LA 182 in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and Kenny L. Woods was identified as one of the parties involved. According to reports, during the altercation Woods allegedly brandished a knife and threatened the victim. Evidence was uncovered linking Woods to the assault. Woods was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jason J. Suire, 45 years of age, address: Hwy 182 Franklin, La., arrested on 03/15/2018 @ 6:43 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Trial on 04/11/2017
                 Warrant: F.T.A. for Contempt Hearing on 02/01/2018

Jason J. Suire was located and arrested in the area of Brashear Ave. on active arrest warrants held by the 16th Judicial Court. Suire was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
