MCPD Arrest Report 04/20/2018
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 42 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 04/19/2018:
Darell J. Gash, 37 years of age, address: Hwy 182 Morgan City, La., arrested on 04/19/2018 @ 9:47 a.m.
Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Probation Fee on 10/03/2017
Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 11/07/2017 (2 counts)
Darell J. Gash was located and arrested in the area of Willard St. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Gash was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Katherine D. Maher, 21 years of age, address: Bernice St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 04/20/2018 @ 3:23 a.m.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 02/27/2018 (2 counts)
Kayla R. Jones, 18 years of age, address: Fourtins St. Berwick, La., arrested on 04/20/2018 @ 3:23 a.m.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana

Patrol officers were standing outside of a local establishment in the area of LA 182 when they observed a vehicle in the parking with two females sitting inside of it. Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. According to reports, Katherine D. Haher and Kayla Jones were identified. Maher and Jones were found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Maher was also found to hold active arrest warrants through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Maher and Jones were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.
