Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 40 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 05/02/2018:
Charles A. Duval Jr., 31 years of age, address: Park Rd. Morgan City, La., arrested on 05/02/2018 @ 8:07 a.m.
Charges: Possession of SCH II CDS W/I/T/D (Methamphetamine)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Obstruction of Justice
Driving Under Suspension
Switched License Plate

Warrant: F.T.A. for Hearing on 11/29/2017 (16th Judicial)

Gia N. Dardeau, 33 years of age, address: Toups St. Berwick, La., arrested on 05/02/2018 @ 8:07 a.m.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 by Charles A. Duval Jr. Duval was being sought for questioning in an investigation from April 29, 2018, in regards to a hit and run. Duval’s Louisiana Driver’s License was also known to have been under suspension. The vehicle was traveling into Berwick when the officer attempted to initiate a stop. The vehicle had pulled into a local establishment on LA 182 when Duval was observed exiting the vehicle and discarding an object in front of the vehicle. Gia N. Dardeau, who was identified as an occupant, allegedly picked up this item and ran into the local establishment. Dardeau was apprehended inside the establishment when she resisted the officer. According to reports, Dardeau was found to be in possession of suspected Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia. Duval was found to hold several active arrest warrants through the 16th Judicial and 6th Ward Morgan City Courts. The vehicle Duval was operating was found to have a license plate displayed that belonged to another vehicle, did not have registration as required, and was not properly insured as required by Louisiana Law. Evidence was uncovered during the investigation linking both Duval and Dardeau to the suspected Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia. Evidence was also uncovered that the drug was intended to be sold in illicit sales. The duo was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.
Tristan Fabre, 18 years of age, address: Hwy 400 Napoleonville, La., arrested on 05/02/2018 @ 8:38 p.m.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana 2nd Offense
Obstruction of Public Passages
No Driver’s License
Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division observed a vehicle stopped in the middle of Robin St obstructing the roadway. A stop was initiated when Tristan Fabre was identified. According to reports, Fabre was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana. Fabre also did not possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. Records indicate that Fabre had a prior marijuana offense within the past year. Fabre was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
