MCPD Arrest Report 06/22/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 48 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 06/21/2018:


Ryan J. Spivey, 37 years of age, address: Maple St. Morgan City, La was arrested on 06/21/2018 @ 8:02 am.

Charge: Possession of Marijuana
                Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                Warrant-Failure to Appear for Trial (6cts)

   Ryan Spivey was placed under arrest at his residence on Maple St. for active warrants he held for the 6th Ward City Court. Spivey was also in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Spivey was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Jarred A. Gros, 29 years of age, address: Second St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/21/2018 @ 11:15 am.

Charge:  Possession of Marijuana
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                  Improper Turning Movement
                  Violation of Uniform CDS Law-Drug Free Zone

A patrol officer in the area of Marguerite St. and LA 70, observed a vehicle fail to use its turn signal while turning on to Marguerite St.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Jared Gros was asked provided a valid driver’s license. During the course of the investigation, the officer could smell an odor of suspected marijuana. Consent was given to search the vehicle and officers located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The area of the traffic stop was within 2000 feet of an elementary school, which is a drug-free zone. Gros was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.



Duane McClendon 06212018 


Duane D. McClendon, 47 years of age, address: Lajaunie St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/21/2018 @ 1:13 pm.

Charge:  Possession of Sch II CDS Methamphetamine
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Seat Belt Violation
                 No Insurance
                 No Inspection Sticker

     A patrol officer in the area of Sixth St. and Brashear Ave., noticed a driver of a vehicle not wearing a seatbelt. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Duane McClendon was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. According to reports, the officer could smell an odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Consent to search the vehicle was given and the officer located suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.  McClendon was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Charlotte T. Barcamontes, 30 years of age, address: Tiffany St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 06/21/2018 @ 2:00 pm.

Charge:  Possession of Synthetic Marijuana 2nd Offense

   Officers responded to the Fourth St. area in regards to an individual that seemed to be under the influence of an illegal narcotic. Officers arrived and located the individual identified as Charlotte Barcamontes. Reports indicate that Barcamontes did appear under the influence. Officer located suspected synthetic marijuana in Barcamotes possession. Barcamotes was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Traylon A. Grogan, 25 years of age, address: Wren St. Morgan City, La. was placed under arrest on 08/21/2018 @ 9:24 pm.

Charge:  Warrant-Failure to Pay Fines (6cts)

  Traylon Grogan was placed under arrest at the Morgan City Police Department for active warrants he held for the 6th Ward City Court. Grogan was booked and incarcerated.


Trinity Harris, 19 years of age, address: Patton St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/21/2018 @ 11:33 pm.

Charge:  Disturbing the Peace Offensive Language 

Shaqunia M. Harris, 23 years of age, address: Arizona St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 06/21/2018 @ 11:33 pm.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace Offensive Language

  Officers responded to a local convenience store on LA Hwy 182 in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke with the victim who identified Shaqunia Harris and Trinity Harris were in the store using profanities towards her. Officers were able to locate Shaqunia and Trinity at a residence on Patton St. According to reports Shaqunia and Trinity both admitted to causing the disturbance. They both were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
