MCPD Arrest report 8/13/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 111 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 08/10/2018:

 

 

William Rawls, 56 years of age, Carrol Dr Morgan City,La was arrested on August 10,2018 @ 7:18 am

 

Charges: Driving under Suspension

                 Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle

                 No Insurance

Officers responded to a vehicle accident near Justa St and Allison St..  During the investigation officers learned that Mr. Rawls was driving under suspension and did not have vehicle insurance.  Mr. Rawls was also determined to be at fault for the accident.  Mr. Rawls was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking

 

 

Charles ADuval Jr. ,  32  years of age, Park Rd Morgan City,La was arrested on 8-10-2018 at 8:30 am

 

Charges: Warrant-FTA to pay fine

Mr. Duval was arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on Warrants from City Court of Morgan City for Failure to pay fines.

Harrison Short, 52 Years of age, Mallard St. Morgan City,LA was arrested on August 10,2018 @ 8:37 am

 

Charges: Warrant-FTA to Pay Probation Fee

 

An officer patrolling the Brashear Ave area observed Harrison Short walking in the area.  The officer knew of warrants from City Court of Morgan City on Mr. Short.  Mr. Short was stopped and placed under arrest, transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

Milton Green Jr., 31 years of age, Willow St. Franklin,La. was arrested on August 10, 2018 @10:10 am.

 

Charges: Warrant FTA to Pay fine

Mr. Green was arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on warrants from City Court of Morgan City for Failure to pay fines.

Mark Broussard Jr, 28 years of age, Vivan St. Morgan City,La was arrested on August 10, 2108 @ 3:29pm

 

Charges: Warrant FTA to pay fines

Officers patrolling the Hickory St. area came into contact with Mr. Broussard and found that he had warrants from the City Court of Morgan City for Failure to pay fines.  Mr. Broussard was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

Corey Abshire, 40 years of age, Marshall St. Morgan City,La was arrested on August 10, 2018 @ 6:19 pm

 

Charges:  Domestic Abuse Child Endangerment

                  Resisting an Officer

Officers responded to the Marshall St. area after a call of an physical altercation between a child and a adult.  Officers arrived and found Mr. Abshire at his residence during the investigating it was learned that Abshire and a young male subject started to argue and that the argument turned physical.  During the investigation Abshire observed other officers talking with the victim and other witnesses at which time he became angry again and attempted to interfere with the officer’s conversation. Officers attempted to stop Abshire at which time he began to resist officers.  Abhisre was placed under arrest at that time.  Officer observed marks on the young male consistent with a battery being committed on him.  Abshire was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

Brandon Hatch, 23 years of age, Oregon St. Berwick,La was arrested on August 11, 2018 @ 3:25 am

 

 Charges: Warrant-Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm

                  Warrant- Theft under $1000.00

Officers located Brandon Hatch at a Hwy 182 business and knew of warrants held by the Morgan City Police Department.  Mr. Hatch was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking. 

The warrants stemmed from an incident from another agency’s investigation into stolen firearms.

Alfred Johnson, 53 years of age, Clayton Dr. Baton Rouge ,La was arrested on August 11, 2018 @ 11:57 am

 

Charges:  Criminal Trespassing

Officers responded to a call of someone being in a vacant house on Louisiana St.  Officers learned that the subject had left before the officers arrived.  Officers were shown video of the subject leaving the residence and searched the area and located the suspect identified as Alfred Johnson.  Mr. Johnson was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

Jesus Zapata, 30 years of age, Village Lane, Morgan City,La j was arrested on August 12, 2018 @ 1:22 am

Charges: Operating a vehicle while intoxicated 1st

                 No Turn Signal

                 Improper Lane use

                 No Drivers License

                 Flight from an Officer

An officer patrolling in the area of Brashear Ave and Sixth St. observed a vehicle driving erratic. The officer followed the vehicle and saw the driver commit a traffic violation.  The officer attempted to stop the vehicle at which time the driver did not stop and continued on to Hwy 90 where officers followed him for some time until the driver stopped.  The driver Jesus Zapata was believed to be intoxicated and which time the officer preformed a field sobriety test, which Zapata failed..  Zapata was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for a intoxilyzer test with the results of .140 G%.  Zapata was booked into the jail.

Darius Brown, 39 years of age, Clements St. Patterson, La was arrested on August 12, 2018 @ 12: 32 am

 

Charges:  Warrant- FTA to pay probation Fee

Officers responded to a call at Teche Regional Medical Center for a disturbance.  Officer located Mr. Brown and found that Morgan City Police Department held warrants from the City Court of Morgan City for Failure to pay probation fee.  Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for bookig.

William Harness Jr. 50 years of age, James St Morgan City, La was arrested on August 12, 2018 @ 6:18 pm.

 

Charges: Operating a vehicle while intoxicated 1st

                 No Drivers License

                 Open Container

Officers were called to a Hwy 182 business for a minor vehicle accident.  During the investigation officers spoke with Harness who was the driver of a vehicle involved in the accident.  The officer believed that Harness was intoxicated.  The officer preformed a field sobriety test which Harness failed.  The officer also noticed an open can of beer in Harness’s vehicle.  A computer check of Harness showed that he did not have a driver’s license.   Harness was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was given an intoxilyzer test with the results of .151 G%.  Harness was booked into the Morgan City Police Department .

Ray Vidos, 59 years of age, Wise St , La was arrested on August 12, 2018 @ 8:54 pm

 

Charges:  Fugitive warrant

Mr. Vidos was located after a call from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriffs office.   Vidos was located at a residence and arrested for a warrant from Terrebonne Parish for violation of a protective order.  Vidos was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking
