Arrest Report 04/10/2014

The following were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 04/09/2014:

Ryan T. Morvant, 22 years of age, Address-Francis Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/09/2014 @ 7:12am

Charge: Improper Turning; Warrant: Possession of Marijuana

An patrolling officer observed a vehicle fail to signal a left turn properly and stopped to investigate.  The driver, Ryan Morvant was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant and arrested.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Otis A. Welsh, 40 years of age, Address-Tiffany Dr. Patterson, La. was arrested on 04/09/2014 @ 9:02am

Charge: Driving Under Suspension; Stop Sign Violation; Warrant: St. Charles Parish-Traffic Violation

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle fail to negotiate a stop sign at the intesection of Freret St. near Federal and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Otis Welsh was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license;  He was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for St. Charles Parish on a traffic violation. He was booked and incarcerated. 

Norris P. Touchet, 42 years of age, Address-St. Martinville,La. was arrested on 04/09/2014 @ 9:33am

Charge: Obstruction of Justice; Injuring Public Records

Norris Touchet, who was being booked on a theft of vehicle warrant at the Morgan City Police department was charged with injuring public records and obstruction of justice after Touchet was discovered to have obtained documents related to his arrest.  Touchet later admitted to destroying the documents.  He was arrested, booked and incarcerated. 

Donald L. Barrow, 34 years of age, Address-Canary St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/09/2014 @ 10:38am

Charge: Warrant: St. Mary Parish S.O.-Failure to Appear-No Drivers License, One Headlight

Patrolling officers located Donald Barrow in the area of Duke St. and Ninth St. and arrested the subject on a warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department for failure to appear on an outstanding warrant.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Latifha R. Friels, 21 years of age, Address-Third St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/10/2014 @ 12:06am

Charge: Warrant: Simple Battery; Warrant: Disturbing the Peace

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle without a license plate displayed and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Latifha Friels, was found to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
