Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 96-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 161 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 4/18/2019:
Lamaris Tywan Ruffin, 19 years of age, Address-North Bayou Black Dr., Gibson, La., was arrested on 4/19/2019 @ 3:04 P.M.
Charge: Driving on Divided Highways

Resisting an Officer by Giving False Information
An officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on HWY 182 and conducted a traffic stop. The driver later identified as Lamaris T. Ruffin gave the officer a false name. During the traffic stop, officers learned Ruffin’s real identity. A computer check revealed Ruffin did not possess a valid driver’s license or vehicle registration. Officers noted the vehicle had a temporary license plate that had been altered. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police department for booking and incarceration.
Jill Marie Parker, 44 years of age, Address-Two Brothers Lane, Morgan City, La., was arrested on 4/19/2019 @ 10:20 P.M.
Charge: Crossing over Private Property to avoid a Traffic Control
Driving under suspension
An Officer observed a vehicle drive through private property at the intersection of HWY 182 and Martin Luther King Blvd. to avoid a red light. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was identified as Jill M. Parker. A computer check revealed her driver’s license was under suspension. She was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Kelvin Walker, 52 years of age, Address-Arizona St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 4/20/2019 @ 4:15 A.M. Charge: Turn Signal Violation
Possession of Crack Cocaine
Officers observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Eleventh St. and Railroad Ave. The driver was identified as Kelvin Walker. During the traffic stop, officers found suspected crack cocaine in Walker’s possession. He was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Maranda Landry, 26 years of age, Address-Onstead St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 4/20/2019 @ 4:59 A.M. Charge: Possession of Marijuana 1st Offence
Officers conducting an investigation at a local motel on HWY 182 came into contact with Maranda Landry. During the course of the investigation officers located suspected marijuana in Maranda’s possession. She was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Officers were dispatched to a local business on Marguerite St. in reference to a suspicious person sleeping in a vehicle. Officers arrived and located Blake J. Smith asleep in his vehicle with suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his lap. When Smith awoke he locked his vehicle and began to ingest the suspected marijuana in his possession. Officers were able to get Smith to unlock his vehicle at which time he was placed under arrest. Officers were able to collect some of the suspected marijuana he did not ingest for evidence. Smith was transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Juan Sustaita-Molina, 32 years of age, Address-Cypress St., Amelia, La., was arrested on 4/20/2019 @ 10:10 A.M. Charge: Improper Lane Usage
Possession of an Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle
Driving While Intoxicated 2nd Offense
An officer observed a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop on Victor II Blvd. The driver was identified as Juan Sustaita-Molina. During the traffic stop, officers observed an open alcoholic beverage in his vehicle and suspected driver impairment. A field sobriety test was given, and Juan Sustaita-Molina did poorly on the test. He was transported to Morgan City Police Department where he refused to give a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained, and a blood sample was collected pending testing. He was booked and incarcerated.
Bradley Joe Griffin, 39 years of age, Address-Terrebonne St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 4/20/2019 @ 9:52 P.M. Charge: Aggravated Flight from an Officer

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Brashear Ave. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle at which time the vehicle accelerated fleeing from the officer. Officers pursued the vehicle to Terrebonne St. where it lost control and crashed into several parked vehicle and apartment. The driver later identified as Bradley Joe Griffin refused to comply with officers and began to ingest suspected marijuana to destroy evidence. Griffin refused to comply and resisted officers attempting to arrest him. He was eventually taken into custody. A computer check revealed Griffin did not possess a valid driver’s license. He was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Michael J Anslem, 61 years of age, Address-First St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 4/20/2049 @ 9:33 P.M. Charge: Barricades, Signs, and Signals

Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense
An officer observed a vehicle go around police barricades on Front St. Upon stopping the vehicle the driver was identified as Michael Anslem. The officer observed an open alcoholic beverage in the vehicle and suspected driver impairment. A field sobriety test was given to Anslem which he did poorly on. He was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department. Once at Morgan City Police Department he was giving an intoxilyzer test and have a breath sample of .187%. He was booked and incarcerated.
Harpreet Singh, 39 years of age, Address-Victor II Blvd, Morgan City, La., was arrest on 4/20/2019 @ 10:24 P.M. Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery-Strangulation
An Officer was dispatched to a business on HWY in reference to a domestic battery. Upon Officers arriving they learned from the victim, her spouse had grabbed her around the neck choking her. Officers were able to obtain surveillance Harpreet Singh had chocked his wife inside the business. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Officers were dispatched to U.S. 90 in reference to a single vehicle crash. Upon officers arriving they learned from witnesses the vehicle had been swerving from lane to lane prior to the crash. Officers identified the driver as Armondo Minjar-Lopez. Officers observed an open alcoholic beverage in his vehicle and suspected driver impairment. A computer check revealed his license was under suspension He was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department. He was given an intoxilyzer test and gave a breath sample of .088%. He was booked and incarcerated.
Jamie Lynn Lantier, 23 years of age, Address-1009 Hickory St., Morgan City, La., was arrested 4/21/2019 @ 4:49 A.M.
Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery
Officers were called to a Hickory St. residence for a domestic battery. Upon officers arrival, they learned from the victim and witness, Jamie Lantier had committed a battery on the victim. Officers observed signs of a battery that was consistent with the victim's statement. He was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Lucios P. Romero Jr., 43 years of age, Address-North Third St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 4/21/2019 @ 3:20 P.M.
Charge: Warrant- Littering
Officers came into contact with Lucios Romero on North Third St. A warrant check revealed Morgan City Police Department held an active warrant for his arrest. He was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Daniel Ray McNeal, 41 years of age, Address-Halsey St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 4/21/2019 @ 10:01 P.M. Warrant: Domestic Battery Strangulation
Domestic Abuse Battery-Child Endangerment
Officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Halsey St. on 4/21/2019 @ 1:30 A.M. Upon officers arrival they learned Daniel McNeal had chocked the victim in front of a small child inside the residence. McNeal left the scene before police arrived. A warrant was obtained for his arrest and was later located on Halsey St. and placed under arrest. He was transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Devante Frank, 27 years of age, Address-Bush St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 4/21/2019 @ 11:10 P.M.
Charge: Warrants-Failure to Appear (10 Counts)
Officers came into contact with Devante Frank in the area of Federal Ave. and Belanger St. A warrants check revealed City Court held active warrants for his arrest. He was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institute
An officer observed a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Seventh St. and Brashear Ave. The driver was identified as Robert P. Stansbury and along with a passenger, Tana Giandelone. A computer check revealed Stansbury's driver's license was under suspension and City Court of Morgan City held a warrant for his arrest. During the traffic stop, officers found Tana Giandelon in possession of several bags of methamphetamines. Officers obtained information that prior to the traffic stop Stansbury had given the bags of suspected methamphetamines to conceal on her person. Both Stansbury and Giandelone were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at Morgan City Police Department officers found another bag of suspected Methamphetamines concealed on Giandelone person. Both were booked and incarcerated.
