MCPD Arrest Report 8/2/2019

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 37 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 08/1/2019:
raul navarez
Raul Miguel Navarez, 56 years of age, Address-Roderick St., Morgan City, La., was arrested 8/1/2019 @ 2:05 P.M. 

Charge: Warrant-Sexual Battery

The warrant stems from a complaint filed with the Morgan City Police Department on July 25, 2019. Officers of the Morgan City Police Department were dispatched to an apartment complex on Roderick St. to investigate a sexual battery complaint. Upon officers arrival, they learned from the complainant and witness Raul Navarez had touched the victim inappropriate in a sexual nature. Raul M. Navarez fled the area and officers were unable to locate him. A warrant was later issued for his arrest.
On 8/1/2019 Officers located Raul M. Navarez in the parking lot of the City Court of Morgan City and placed him under arrest. He was booked and incarcerated at the Morgan City Police Department. 
keithen humphrey
Keithen K Humphrey, 30 years of age, Address-Cardinal St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 8/1/2019 @ 9:56 P.M. 

Charge: Aggravated Assualt on a Dating Partner
               Simple Kidnapping
               False Imprisonment Armed with a Dangerous Weapon
               Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 
               Warrant-Domestic Abuse Battery by Strangulation

Officers were called to a Belanger St. residence in reference to a Disturbance. Upon Officers arrival, they were met by the victim and Keithen Humphery as they arrived on the scene. Officers learned from the victim she and Keithen K. Humphrey were in a dating relationship. The victim told officers earlier she was in the Brownell Homes area when Humphrey took her vehicle without her permission. She advised while attempting to call for help, Humphrey pulled up to her and threatened her with bodily harm to get in the vehicle with him. She advised Humphrey drove her to the Belanger St. residence. The victim state while inside the residence he threatened her with a knife. 
During the investigation, a warrant check revealed the Morgan City Police Department held a warrant for his arrest for Domestic Abuse Battery by Strangulation. The warrant stems from a July 21, 2019 incident with the same victim. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
