The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 05/14/2014:

 

 

Mark A. Smith, 50 years of age, Address-Myrtle St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 05/14/2014 @ 2:25pm

Charge: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (6th Offense); Possession of Marijuana (3rd Offense)

Charge: Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License

Laura L. Cutrera, 47  years of age, Address-Federal Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/14/2014 @ 2:25pm

Charge: Theft of Goods (Value $13.12); Theft of Gasoline (Value $50.02)

     Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department arrived at a Highway 182 convenience store when they were confronted by the clerk who advised that she had just been robbed.  The clerk pointed a vehicle out leaving the scene.  The detectives apprehended and detained the vehicle in the area of Highway 182 and Ditch Ave.  The occupants of the vehicle were detained and an investigation into the incident followed.  It was learned that the business had not been robbed but that the female passenger in the vehicle, identified as Laura Cutrera had committed a theft of goods from inside the store.  The female was also accused of attempting to leave the premises without paying for fuel.  Cutrera was arrested for the theft of goods.  The driver of the vehicle, Bradley Druihlet was also arrested after he was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  Another passenger, Mark Smith was arrested after he was found to be in possession of a pipe commonly used to consume illegal narcotics and suspected marijuana which he attempted to discard.  All subjects were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Baseemah Gray, 32 years of age, Address-Short St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/14/2014 @ 6:52pm

Charge: Possession of Schedule II CDS-Cocaine; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

     Detectives with the Narcotics Division of the Morgan City Police Department executed a search warrant at a Short Street residence.  The warrant was obtained during an investigation into the illegal sales of narcotics from the residence.  The suspect, Baseemah Gray was located inside the residence at the time of the search warrant and found to be in possession of suspected cocaine, a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance as well as items of drug paraphernalia.  Gray was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 

 

Lisa B. Raymond, 46 years of age, Address-Chennault St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/14/2014 @ 7:32pm

Charge: Disturbing the Peace

Officers were summoned to an Allison St. address regarding a disturbance.  Officers arrived and were advised that a subject, Lisa Raymond had came to the residence, causing a disturbance and appeared to be attempting to get into a physical altercation with the resident there.  The subject, Lisa Raymond, who according to witnesses refused to leave, was located and placed under arrest.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 

 

Charles K. Carter, 48 years of age, Address-West Monroe, La. was arrested on 05/14/2014 @ 8:02pm

Charge: Driving While Intoxicated-Fifth Offense; Improper Lane Usage

     An officer with the Morgan City Police Department was dispatched to the area of Highway 90 and Martin Luther King in reference to a reckless driver.  Officers arrived and observed a vehicle matching the description being driven in an erratic manner, using both lanes of travel.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver , Charles Carter detained.  Carter, who almost fell as he exited the vehicle, exhibited signs of impairment and was given a field sobriety test in which he did poorly on.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .231g%.  Carter was booked and incarcerated.
