The following persons were arrest by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 05/16/2014:

 

 

Emmanuel Mercado, 24 years of age, Address-Patterson, La. was arrested on 05/16/2014 @ 7:37am

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Appear-Speeding; Warrant: Failure to Appear-No Driver License; Improper Lane Usage; No Drivers License (3rd Offense); No Insurance

An officer patrolling the school zone area near Federal Ave. and Brashear Ave. observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Emmanuel Mercado was found not to possess a valid drivers license nor liablility insurance.  He was also found to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department regarding the same type violations.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

Nicholas Breaux, 35 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/16/2014 @ 10:31am

Charge: Criminal Trespassing

Officers were dispatched to propertly located near the area of Levee Rd. and Front St. regarding subjects trespassing on the property.  Nicholas Breaux was located by the owner of the property who had reported unwanted subjects entering the posted property committing acts of vandalism and damage to property.  Breaux, who was observed with an unidentified female on the property was arrested after witnesses observed them attempting to enter onto an abandoned boat in the area.  The female, who had fled the scene before officers arrived was not located.  Breaux was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Second Degree Battery

Officers were dispatched to the area of Sixth St. and Gen MacArthur regarding a subject being struck in the head.  Officers arrived and found the victim with an injury to the forehead area which required the victim receiving medical treatment at Teche Regional Hospital.  According to the victim, he was struck by a male subject who had left the area on foot.  Officers located a subject fitting the description and identified him as Brandon Collier a short time later.  Collier was positively identified as the suspect causing the injury.  Collier was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

Jonathan J. Arcemont, 43 years of age, Address-Eisenhower St. Franklin, La. was arrested on 05/16/2014 @ 12:28pm

Charge: Improper Turning; Possession of Schedule II CDS-Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute; Possession of Schedule III CDS-Xanax, Possession of Schedule III CDS-Lortab; Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription-Viagra; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Illegal Carrying of a Weapon

Officers received a complaint of a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner near Marguerite St.  Officers located a vehicle matching the description near the intersection of La. Highway 70 and La. Highway 90 intersection.  The driver of the vehicle, upon being stopped, exited his vehicle and started walking towards the officer.  The subject, identified as Jonathan Arcemont was observed reaching into his pocket while walking.  The officer, who observed a knife protruding from the pocket, detained the subject for investigation.  The subject, Arcemont was found to possess severl celophane baggies which contained suspected cocaine.  He was also found to possess several small bags and containers of several pills identified as Xanax, Lortab and Viagra of which Arcemont had no valid prescription.  Jonathan Arcemont was also found to be in possession of various items of drug paraphernalia.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

Marilyn Hatch, 35 years of age, Address-Glenwood St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/16/2014 @ 5:49pm

Charge: Felony Theft-($697.75)

     Marilyn Hatch was arrested after she turned herself in to the Morgan City Police Department on an oustanding arrest warrant for theft.  The warrants alleges that Hatch made purchases using an access card without the owner's permission and knowledge.  Hatch was booked and released after posting a cash bond.

     Detectives with the Narcotics Division of the Morgan City Police Department observed a suspicious male subject walking in a known drug area.  The subject traveled to the area of Fifth St. and Brashear Ave. and met with another male subject in a vehicle who had pulled into a handicap parking spot in the parking lot.  The subjects appeared to be involved in some type of transaction and were detained by detectives.  The subjects were identified as Dan Mouzakis and Taj Broussard.  Mouzakis was found to possess crack cocaine and was arrested.  During the investigation, it was learned that Broussard had supplied Mouzakis with the cocaine prior to officers intervention.  Broussard was arrested and found to possess over $800.00 in U.S. Currency which was seized.  Both men were arrested and upon arrival at the Morgan City Police Department, it was discovered that Broussard had attempted to discard a celophane bag which contained additional crack cocaine in the rear of the police unit.  Both were booked and incarcerated into the Morgan City Jail facility.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle speeding in the area of Levee Rd. and Sixth St. and was able to confirm the speed with a radar unit at 36mph in a 25mph zone.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Shunta Jones who was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  Jones was arrested and during a subsequent search of the vehicle, a grinder used to process marijuana was located in the vehicle.  The passenger of the vehicle, Latifha Frields nor Jones claimed knowledge of the paraphernalia and were both arrested.  They were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Simple Battery

     Officers received a complaint of a subject being struck by another in the area of Highway 182 and Cottonwood St. during a confrontation.  Officers arrived and learned from the victim that he had become involved in a verbal altercation while attempting to fuel his vehicle at a gas pump with another subject who he accused of punching him, causing him to fall to the ground.  The victim pointed out Michael Leonard to officers who admitted to officers that he struck the subject during the arguement.  Leonard was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

William S. Crisp, 39 years of age, Address-Tiffany St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 05/17/2014 @ 8:37pm

Charge: Driving While Intoxicated 2nd Offense; Speeding 45mph/25mph zone; Improper Lane Usage

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner in the area of Federal Ave. and Terrebone St. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver of the vehicle, William Crisp displayed signs of being impaired and was given a field sobriety test which he failed.  Crisp was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .254g%.  Crisp was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: No Drivers License; Stop Sign Violation (2 Counts)

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle fail to yield to two stop signs in the area of Federal Ave. and Onstead St. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Edin Garcia could not produce a valid drivers license and was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated

The Morgan City Police Department received a complaint of a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner on La. Hwy 70 near Lake End Park.  Officers arrived in the area and located the vehicle described, stopping the vehicle to investigate.  The driver of the vehicle, Leo Dore exhibited signs of impairment and was given a field sobriety test which he failed.  Dore was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where the subject refused the Intoxilyzer 5000 test.  He was booked and incarcerated. 

 

Brock E. Williams, 34 years of age, Address-Joseph St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/18/2014 @ 2:28am

Charge: Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated; Reckless Operation of a Moveable; No Drivers License; Expired Motor Vehicle Registration; Warrant: No Driver's License

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner in the area of Fifth St. and Everette St. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Brock Williams could not produce a valid drivers license nor current vehicle registration.  Williams, who exhibited signs of impairment was given an opportunity to complete a field sobriety test which the subjct refused to complete.  Williams was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was given an Intoxilyzer 5000 test, results indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .177g %.  Williams was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription (Tizanidine Hydrochloride); Warrant: St. Mary Parish Drug Court-Failure to Comply-Two Counts

Officers were dispatched to a domestic complaint at an Arkansas St. residence.  During the investigation, officers came into contact with Mandi Hatfield who was discovered to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the St. Mary Parish Drug Court.  She was arrested.  She was also found to be in possession of a prescription drug without a valid prescription.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booked and incarceration. 

 

Willie J. Vallet, 47 years of age, Address-Verdun Lane Franklin, La. was arrested on 05/18/2014 @ 3:42pm

Charge: Possession of Schedule II CDS-Cocaine; Violation of Uniformed Dangerous Substance Law(School Zone); Possession of Paraphernalia; Warrant: St. Mary Parish Sheriffs Department-Failure to Appear for Criminal Neglect of Family

Officers were dispatched to a car wash located at Roderick St. and Glenwood St. regarding subject passed out behind the wheel in the car wash.  Officers located the vehicle and identified the driver as Willie Vallet.  During the investigation, officers recovered suspected crack cocaine and a pipe commonly used to smoke illegal narcotics inside the subject's vehicle.  Vallet was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department.  He was arrested.  The area, which is across the street from an elementary school resulted in additional charges against Vallet.  Willie Vallet was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

Christopher H. Gough, 42 years of age, Address-Hilda St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/18/2014 @ 6:24pm

Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery

Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 RV park in regards to a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived and encounted a female with injuries she advised she sustained when she was struck repeatedly by her boyfriend, Christopher Gough.  The victim was treated by Acadian Ambulance for her injuries.  Officers located Gough and advised him of his Miranda Rights.  Gough, who refused to cooperate was found to have blood splatter indicating an altercation on his clothing.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Warrant: Theft by Shoplifting; Warrant: Failure to Pay Probation Fee; Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine-Contributing to the Deliquency of a Juvenile; Warrant: Probation Violation-No Proof of enrollment; Warrant:St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department-Simple Battery

Daniel Colbert was located at the Patterson Police Department and placed under arrest on several outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department as well as a warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department.  Colbert was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail facility where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Appearing in Public Intoxicated

     Officers were dispatched to the area of the Mr. Charlie Museum in regards to an intoxicated subject.  Officers arrived and located Rodney Castle who could barely stand and smelled of alcoholic beverage.  Castle could not secure a family member or assistance and was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting and stopped the vehicle on Railroad Ave. and Fourth St. to investigate.  The driver, Thomas Anderson could not produce a valid drivers license and was discovered to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Patterson Police Department.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
