MCPD Arrest Report 10/8/2019

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 46 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on
10/7/2019:

Robert Anthony Norris, 30 years of age, Address-Sixth St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 10/7/2019 @ 11:23 A.M. 

Charge: Warrant- Possession of Schedule IV (Alprazolam)
                              Illegal Carrying of a Weapon

Robert A Norris was located and placed under arrest at the Berwick Police Department. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. 

Daniel Michael Elliott, 20 years of age, Address-Cane St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 10/7/2019 @ 4:53 P.M. 

Charge: Stop Sign Violation
               No Driver's License
               No Insurance 
               No Child Restraint

Officers were called to the intersection of Greenwood St. and Highway LA 70 for a motor vehicle crash. The investigating learned a vehicle driven by Daniel M. Elliott failed to stop for oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle. The officer observed Elliot had a small child in his vehicle that was not properly restrained. A computer check revealed Elliot did not have a valid driver's license. The computer check also revealed the vehicle Elliot was driving was uninsured. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Alfred Johnson, 54 years of age, Address-Clayton Drive, Baton Rouge, La., was arrested on 10/7/2019 @ 1:15 P.M. 

Charge: Simple Battery

Glenn Gregory Johnson, 19 years of age, Address-Clayton Drive, Baton Rouge, La., was arrested on 10/7/2019 @ 1:15 P.M. 

Charge: Simple Battery

Caleb Ra'Shawn Givens, 18 years of age, Address-Clayton Drive, Baton Rouge, La., was arrested on 10/7/2019 @ 1:15 P.M. 

Charge: Simple Battery

The Morgan City Jail Staff was alerted to a fight in the inmate recreational area within the housing facility of the Morgan City Jail. During the investigation, Alfred Johnson, Gleen G. Johnson, and Caleb R. Givens were identified as persons involved. They were booked and incarcerated.
