Arrest Report 09/29/2014

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 09/26/2014:

 

 

Tommy J. Rogers, 37 years of age, Address-Highway 70 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/26/2014 @ 2:04am

Charge: Driving While Intoxicted (3rd Offense); Possession of Open Container of Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle; Driving Left of Center

     Officers were dispatched to a the area of La. Hwy 70 in Morgan City in regards to a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner.  Officers arrived in the area and observed a vehicle as described.  The vehicle was observed crossing the center line into opposing traffic and swerving in the roadway.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver, Tommy J. Rogers was detained.  Rogers was observed to be in a reported impaired condition, swaying as he walked and stood and smelling of an alcoholic beverage.  The subject reportedly had to use his vehicle for support.  Officers provided a field sobriety test which Rogers was unable to complete.  Tommy Rogers, who was observed with an open container of alcoholic beverage inside his vehicle was arrested and transported to to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .199g%.  Rogers, who had a previous record of two D.W.I. convictions was booked and incarcerated.

          Officers were dispatched to a Cottonwood St. residence in regards to removing a subject.  Officers arrived and learned that there were subjects staying at the residence without the owners permission.  The complainant, upon their attempts to remove items belonging to the subjects from the residence located suspicous items of what appeared to be drug paraphernalia and contacted police officers.  Officers observed what appeared to be a marijuana smoking pipe which had been discovered within the subjects belongings.  Officers secured the scene and obtained a search warrant to search the remainder of the residence.  Officers, during the search located marijuana smoking pipes, pipes commonly used to consume methampetamine type drugs as well as other items of paraphernalia.  Officers identified the suspects as Abbey L. Aucoin, who had been living at the residence and a male subject, Jordan Drury.  Both subjects were located and admitted to possession of the items.  Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Ruben Evans Jr., 27 years of age, Address-Cherry St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/27/2014 @ 1:34am

Charge: Simple Burglary; Criminal Damage to Property; Simple Assault; Battery on a Police Officer; Resisting an Officer; Public Intimidation of a Police Officer

     Officers were dispatched to an Egle St. residence regarding a male subject attempting to break into the residence.  Officers arrived and learned from the victim that Ruben Evans Jr., an acquaintance of the victim had attempted to enter the residence through the front door of the residence.  The subject was reported to have went to window of the residence where he removed an air-conditioner from the residence and gained entry.  Once inside the residence, according to witnesses, the subject began to damage items inside the residence including electronic items and furniture.  The damage was estimated at $780.00.  Officers were unable to locate the subject in the area.  Approximately an hour later, officers received another call that the subject had returned to the same residence.  Officers located Evans in front of the residence.  Officers attempted to place Ruben Evans Jr. under arrest, however, according to reports, the subject began to resist officers and during the struggle struck officers and shouted threats, not only to the officers but the complainant as well.  Ruben Evans Jr. was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Wentrell A. Thomas, 25 years of age, Address-Gates Dr. Franklin, La. was arrested on 09/27/2014 @ 2:17am

     Officers were dispatched to a Roderick St. motel in regards to a subject sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle with the engine on.  Officers arrived and located a male subject sleeping inside the vehicle.  Officers made several attempts to wake the driver and eventually identified him as Wentrell Thomas.  Thomas was observed, according to reports to be in an impaired condition.  The subject failed a field sobriety test and was subsequently placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .129g%.  Thomas was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Burnell A. Narcisse, 49 years of age, Address-Trevino St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 09/27/2014 @ 9:51am

Charge: Warrant: Domestic Violence; Warrant: Resisting an Officer; Warrant: Contempt of Court (2 Counts)

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling on Hwy 182 being driven by Burnell Narcisse, a wanted subject.  Officers stopped the vehicle and detained Narcisse.  The warrants were confirmed and Burnell Narcisse was arrested on the oustanding warrants for the Sixth Ward City Cour of Morgan City.  He was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Harold E. Turner, 64 years of age, Address-Adams St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/27/2014 @ 2:10pm

Charge: Warrant: Probation Violation; Warrant: Failure to Pay Probation Fee; Introduction of Contraband Into a Penal Institution; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (3rd Offense)

     Officers observed harold Turner in the area of Union St. and were aware of an outstanding warrant for Mr. Turner.  Turner was detained and placed under arrest on the confirmed warrants.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Departments jail facility where he was found to be in possession of a pipe commonly used to consume illegal narcotics hidden on his person.  He was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Wayne A. Lewis, 43 years of age, Address-Massey Lane Belle Rose, La. was arrested on 09/27/2014 @ 6:55pm

Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery

    Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 apartment complex regarding a domestic disturbance.  Officers arrived and were advised by witnesses that Wayne Lewis had become involved in a domestic dispute with a female at the residence.  According to the victim, Lewis began breaking items inside the residence and struck the female.  Lewis was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Tony Weston was located at the Berwick Police Department where he was arrested on an outstanding warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court of Morgan City.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Carlise T. Grogan was located at a Sixth St. residence and placed under arrest on outstanding warrants for the City Court of Morgan City.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
