The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 12/05/2014:

 

 

Demarcus T. Skipper, 19 years of age, Address-Hickory St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/05/2014 @ 6:29am

Charge: Warrant: Probation Violation, Failure to Pay Fee

     Demarcus Skipper was located at a Highway 182 apartment complex by a patrolling officer and placed under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was booked into the Morgan City jail where he remains incarcerated. 

 

 

William B. Harrison, 60 years of age, Address-Wise St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/5/2014 @ 2:36pm

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine; Stop Sign Violation, Contempt of Court (2 Counts)

     William Harrison was located in Berwick La. and placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Tyrone F. Thomas, 50 years of age, Address-Fifth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/05/2014 @ 3:51pm

Charge: Warrant: Simple Battery; Warrant: Second Degree Battery

     Tyrone Thomas was arrested by detectives at the Morgan City Police Department on a warrant which was obtained as a result of an investigation which began on November 24, 2014.  In that complaint, Thomas was accused of attacking a female victim, striking her several times causing injuries which required medical attention.  Thomas was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Benjamin J. Blackman, 24 years of age, Address-Roderick St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/06/2014@3:20am

Charge: Obstructing Public Passage; Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License; Possession of Marijuana; Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution

     Officers were dispatched to the Keith St. area regarding a vehicle blocking the roadway.  Officers arrived to find a vehicle across the road with the engine still running and in gear.  The subject inside appeared asleep.  Officers had to gain entry into the vehicle to check on the subject.  He denied any medical treatment.  He was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail facility where upon further search was found to have suspected marijuana concealed on his person.  He was additionally charged and incarcerated. 

 

 

Marco R. Ortiz, 17 years of age, Address-Halsey St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/08/2014 @ 3:25am

Charge: Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated; Speeding 57/45mph zone; Possession of Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle; Possession of Alcohol by Persons under the age of 21

Marco R. Ortiz

     A patrolling officer observed a speeding vehicle traveling on La Hwy 182 and determined that the vehicle was traveling 57mph in a 45mph zone.  It was stopped and the driver was identified as 17 year old, Marco Ortiz who was found to be in possession of open containers of alcoholic beverage.  Ortiz, who exhibited signs of impairment was given a field sobriety test in which he failed.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was given an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a BAC of .091%.  He was booked and incarcerated.
