The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 12/23/2014:
Juan R. Torres Jr, , 25 years of age, Address-Stacy St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/23/2014 @ 9:48am
Charge: Possession of Schedule I CDS-Marijuana; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Officers received a complaint from staff at Teche Regional in regards to a subject being involved in an altercation and arrived to investigate. When officers came into contact with the subject, Juan Torres Jr., he removed a suspected celophane bag of marijuana from his person and threw it on the counter telling officers they can take him to jail. The officer recovered the evidence and placed Torres under arrest. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
Marcus Hatch, 40 years of age, Address-Berwick, La. was arrested on 12/23/2014 @ 10:02am
Charge: Warrant: Failure to Appear-Criminal Damage to Property

Marcus Hatch was located at his residence in Berwick, La. and placed under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
Christian C. Calamia II, 44 years of age, Address-Harvard Ave., Harahan, La. was arrested on 12/23/2014 @ 3:00pm
Charge: Warrants: Failure to Appear-Careless Operation, D.W.I. 2nd Offense, Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers LIcense

Chrisian C. Calamia turned himself in to officers at the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked on outstanding warrants for the City Court of Morgan City. He was booked and released after posting a cash bond of $5,000.00.
Richard K. Hawkins, 39 years of age, Address-Birch St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/23/2014 @ 3:24pm
Charge: Warrant: Simple Battery; Warrant: Aggravated Battery

Richard Hawkins turned himself in to officers at the Morgan City Police Department and was booked on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department. The warrants were obtained by detectives in reference to an investigation into an alleged incident which was reported on December 21, 2014 in which Hawkins is accused of striking another subject with a bicycle during an altercation. Hawkins was booked and released after posting a $1,000.00 cash bond.
Kaylynn C. Rodriquez, 26 years of age, Address-Highway 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/24/2014 @ 3:06am
Charge: Child Desertion

Kaylynn Rodriquez was arrested after officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 apartment in regards to several juveniles being abandoned in that residence. Officers arrived to locate three small children, ages 7 years old, 2 years old, and a 1 year old. Officers began to investigate and identified Kaylynn Rodriguez as the mother of the children. As officers continued their investigation, they eventually located Rodriguez, who initially attempted to conceal her identity by giving a false name. Rodriquez was found to be in an intoxicated condition. She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. The children were turned over to a concerned adult relative.
