The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 02/04/2015:




Craig M. Free, 28 years of age, Address-River Rd. Berwick, La. was arrested on 02/03/2015 @ 7:44pm

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Appear for Review

     Officers located Craig Free at the intersection of La. 70 and Highway 182 and placed him under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court of Morgan City.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 




Sherrell L. Brown, 28 years of age, Address-Federal Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/03/2015 @ 8:33pm


Charge: Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated; Open Container; Driving Under Suspension, Warrant: Open Container

      Officers were dispatched to the area of Federal Ave. and Marshall St. in regards to a subject sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle in the roadway.  Officers arrived to locate the vehicle and observed the driver, Sherell Brown sleeping behind the wheel of a running vehicle.  The driver was detained and found to be in a reportedly impaired condition.  Brown was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  She submitted to a field sobriety test which she did poorly on according to report.  Sherell Brown was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was provided an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .176g%.  She was booked and incarcerated. 





Cory A. Chapman, 49 years of age, Address-Verdun Ln. Franklin, La. was arrested on 02/04/2015 @ 11:51pm


Charge: Warrant: Theft by Shoplifting (2 Counts); Warrant: Contempt of Court

Cory Chapman was located at the intersection of Fifth St. and Freret St. and placed under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
