MCPD Arrest Report 03/09/2015

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 03/06/2015:


Demarcus D. Holly, 19 years of age, Address-Friendship Alley Amelia, La. was arrested on 03/06/2015 @ 7:11pm

Charge: Possession of Marijuana 2nd Offense
               Possession of Schedule IV CDS-Xanax
               Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution

     Demarcus Holly was arrested by officers after he reported to the Morgan City Jail facility to serve time.  Holly was suspected of introducing illegal narcotics into the jail facility and was searched.  During the search, Holly was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana along with several pills of Xanax, a Schedule IV CDS hidden in his clothing.  He was arrested, booked and incarcerated into the jail facility. 

Brandon MCclendon, 27 years of age, Address-Headland St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/06/2015 @ 9:06pm

Charge: Driving Under Suspension
               Warrant: Failure to Pay Restitution for Criminal Damage to Property

    A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting in the area of Headland St. and Railroad Ave. and stopped the vehicle to speak with the driver.  The driver, Brandon Mcclendon was discovered to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court of Morgan City.  He was arrested, transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

John C. Aucoin, 33 years of age, Address-Delmar St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/07/2015 @ 2:04am

     John Aucoin was located near the intersection of Franklin St. and Sixth St. and placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  The warrant stemmed from a complaint from December 2014 accusing Aucoin of the theft of appliances from another.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Marc A. Mireles, 22  years of age, Address-Levee Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/07/2015 @ 6:38pm

Charge: Driving While Intoxicted
                Reckless Operation of a Moving Vehicle
                Disturbing the Peace

     Officers were dispatched to Lake End Park in Morgan City regarding a disturbance.  Officers were advised that the subject involved in the disturbance was leaving the park in a vehicle.  Officers observed the vehicle leaving the area and attempted to stop the vehicle.  The driver continued on at a high rate of speed with a passenger in the rear cargo area of the vehicle.  The passenger appeared to be holding on to the vehicle due to the speed and reckless operation.  The vehicle was eventually detained on Victor II Blvd. and the driver, Mark A. Mireles, who was found in an impaired condition was arrested.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to a field sobriety test which he did poorly on.  Mireles was given an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcoholic concentration of .270g%. The subject, Mireles was booked and incarcerated. 

Michael Crouch, 28 years of age, Address-Third St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/08/2015 @ 12:11 pm

Charge: Warrant: St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department-Theft over $500.00
               Resisting an Officer

     Officers responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a Third St. residence and located Michael Crouch.  It was confirmed that Crouch was wanted on an outstanding warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department.  Michael Crouch attempted to flee from the officers and was pursued and eventually subdued and arrested.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Josue Alvarenga, 31 years of age, Address-Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/08/2015 @ 4:25am

               Careless Operation of a Moving Vehicle
               No Driver License

     Officers were dispatched to the area of Brashear Ave. and Federal Ave. in regards to debris in roadway.  Officers arrived and located the debris.  Officers also located a vehicle in the area, which had attempted to leave the scene with damage and evidence of a collision.  Officers located the driver, Josue Alvarenga was appeard impaired.  Alvarenga was given a field sobriety test which he failed.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was given an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which resulted in a .212g% result.  He was booked and incarcerated. 

Douglas Moreno, 21 years of age, Address-Diane Place St. Rose, La. was arrested on 03/08/2015 @ 12:44 pm

               Switched License Plate
               No Insurance 
               Hit & Run Driving

     Officers were dispatched to a vehicle crash on Levee Rd. in Morgan City and arrived to learn that Douglas Moreno, while operating a vehicle, had struck a parked vehicle and attempted to leave the scene.  Moreno was eventually stopped by witnesses and detained until police arrived.  Moreno, was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He could not provide insurance or registration.  Officers discovered that the license plate displayed on Moreno's vehicle had been switched.   He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

India M. Labry, 18 years of age, Address-Franklin, La. was arrested on 03/08/2015 @ 9:16pm

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling without headlights in the area of Ditch Ave. and Highway 182 and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, India Labry was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license and was subsequently arrested.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

               No Motor Vehicle Inspection
               No Driver License on Person

     A patrolling officer observed a speeding motorcycle traveling on Highway 90 and was able to determine that the vehicle was speeding 140mph in a 70 mph zone with radar.  The operator, upon seeing police officers increased his speed and continued on .  The officers alerted other units and officers were able to locate the motorcycle and the driver Brandon Griffin on Myrtle St.  The driver, Griffin advised officers that he was speeding while traveling to church.  He could not produce a valid drivers license nor any documents related to his motorcycle such as inspection and registration.  The vehicle's license plate was determined to be switched.  Griffin admitted to officers that after observing the police units, he sped to speeds exceeding 170 mph.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. He was later released after posting a cash bond. 

Gerald Ohmer, 59 years of age, Address-Helen Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/09/2015 @ 2:09am

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner in the area of Roderick St. and attempted to stop the vehicle.  The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed, eventually pulling into a Helen St. residence.  The driver, Gerald Ohmer, according to reports, was found to be in an impaired condition, holding onto his vehicle for balance.  The subject, Ohmer refused to cooperate when given an opportunity to submit to a field sobriety test.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was given an opportunity to submit to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which he refused.  He was booked and incarcerated.
