MCPD Arrest Report 10/13/2015

The following persons have been arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 10/12/2015.


Christine Pitre, 36 years of age, Address: Fortins Street, Berwick, La. was arrested on 10/12/2015 @ 5:05 P.M. 

Charge: Theft of Goods (Shoplifting)

     An officer responded to Rouse's Super Market in regards to a female subject shoplifting. The officer arrived and the suspect was identified as Christine Pitre. Witnesses stated that Pitre was observed placing items into her purse to conceal them. According to reports the items were located inside Pitre's purse. Pitre was paced under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 

Donald R. Turner, 33 years of age, Address: South Everett Street, Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/12/2015 @ 7:19 P.M.


Charges:  Possession of Marijuana (less then 15 grams)
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Danielle E. Kinkle 22 years of age, Address: Mercury Street, Pierre Part, La. was arrested on 10/12/2015 @ 5:37 P.M.


Charges : Possession of Marijuana (less than 15 grams)
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

     Officers responded to a residence on South Everett Street in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and located Donald R. Turner and Danielle E. Kinkle at the residence. During the course of the investigation officers observed in plain view suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Officers were given consent to search the residence and according to reports officers located more suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia which both Kinkle and Turner stated belonged to them. Both Kinkle and Turner was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Cody D. Coleman, 29 years of age, Address: 906 Duke Street, Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/12/2016 @ 9:23 P.M.


Charge:  Domestic Abuse Battery

     Officers responded to an address on Duke Street in regards to a domestic disturbance. Upon officers arrival, Cody D. Coleman along with the victim of a suspected battery was located inside of the residence. According to reports evidence of the battery was obtained by officers. Coleman was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.


Kord T. Atkinson, 29 years of age, Address: Keith Street, Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/12/2015 @ 9:27 P.M.


Charges:  Driving Under Suspension
                 Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle

     An officer was patrolling the area of Federal Ave. near Leona Street. While dong so the officer observed a vehicle traveling at a rate of speed higher than the posted speed limit. The officer then observed the vehicle turn onto Leona Street in a careless manner. A traffic stop was conducted and Kord T. Atkinson was identified as the driver of the vehicle. Atkinson was asked to produce a valid drivers license. A drivers license check was conducted and according to reports Atkinson's drivers license was under suspension. Atkinson was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 


Derek Gaskins, 35 years of age, Address: Friendship Alley, Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/12/2015 @ 10:31 P.M.


Charges:  Driving Under Suspension

                 Resisting an Officer
                 Littering
                 Warrants held by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department for:
                                Hit and Run Driving
                                Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
                                No Divers License
                                Switch License Plate
                                No Insurance

     An officer was patrolling the area of Railroad Ave near Myrtle Street when the officer observed a vehicle traveling in the wrong lane of travel and the driver throwing out what appeared to be styrofoam cups out of the window. A traffic stop was conducted when the driver of the vehicle got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. Officer gave chase and the driver of the vehicle identified as Derek Gaskins was captured. A drivers license check was conducted and according to reports Gaskins had a suspended drivers license. A warrants check was conducted and it was learned the the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department held several warrants for Gaskins's arrest. Gaskins was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
