MCPD Arrest Report 11/06/2015

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 11/05/2015:


Bridget A. Pojar, 36 years of age, Address- Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/05/2015 @ 10:03 am.


Charge:  Appearing in an Intoxicated Condition
                Warrant- Probation Violation

     Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Franklin St. in regard to a female in the area that appeared intoxicated.  When officers arrived, they made contact with Bridget Pojar. Officers could smell an odor of aloholic bevearge emitting from Pojor's breath. A warrants check was done on Pojar and it was determined that she held an active warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court. Pojar was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Therina L. Russel, 40 years of age, Address- S. Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/05/2015 @ 10:51 am.


Charge:  Warrant- Failure to Pay Fine
                Warrant- Failure to Appear- Possession of Marijuana Deborah N. LaCoste, 57 years of age, Address- S. Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/05/2015 2 10:51 am. 


Charge:  Cultivation of Sch. I Marijuana
                Violation of Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substance Law

John T. Floyd, 49 years of age, Address- S. Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/05/2015 @ 10:51 am.


Charge:  Illegal Possession of Stolen Things (value $1,895.25)
               Cultivation of Sch. I Marijuana
               Violation of Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substance Law

Ronald I. Marchmon, 53 years of age, Address- S. Railroad Ave. was arrested on 11/05/2015 @ 10:51 am. 


Charge:  Culitivation of Sch. I Marijuana
                Violation of Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substance Law

     Officers were dispatched to a local jewlery store in regard to an individual trying to sell a ring in the store that had been reported stolen. When officers arrived, they spoke to the individual identified as John Floyd. According to reports, Floyd stated he was given the ring which was valued at $1895.25.  Officers asked Floyd for concent to go back to his residence and search for anymore items that could be stolen. Floyd gave consent and he was escorted back to his residence. Once at the residence, officers came into contact with Therina Russel, Debra LaCoste and Ronald Marchmon.  During the course of the investigation, officers located several small plants of suspected marijuana located in a room occupied by Floyd and LaCoste. Reports indicate that Marhmon, who also resides at the residence, is alleged to have participated in planting the suspected marijuana. A warrants check determined that Russel held active warrants for the Sixth Ward City Court.  All subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Vinny P. Verret, 27 years of age, Address- Third St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/05/2015 @ 5:09 pm. 


Charge:  Resisting an Officer
                Simple Battery
                Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

     Officers were dispatched to a residence on Fourth St. in regard to a disturbance.  When officers arrived, they observed an individual identified as Vinny Verret yelling and using profanities. Officers also observed Verret try to strike another indvidual. Officers tried to put Verret into handcuffs, but he resisted. Verret was subdued a short time later. Officers were able to talk to the victim, who stated that he and Verret had gotten into a verbal altercation, which led to Verret striking him several times.  Verret was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Willie Bennett, 63 years of age, Address- Hwy 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/05/2015 @ 9:09 pm.


Charge: Warrant- Failure to Pay Fine

     Willie Bennett was located in the area of Leona St. A local warrants check was done on Bennett and it was determined that he held an active warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court. Bennett was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Gilbert C. Howard, 45 years of age, Address- Fourth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/05/2015 @ 9:28 pm. 


Charge:  Driving Under Suspension
                Tail Lamps

     A patrol officer in the area of Sixth near Leona St. observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Gilbert Howard was asked to produce a valid driver's license. A computer check revealed that Howard's driver's license was suspended. Howard was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Rinney D. Turner, 24 years of age, Address- Eleventh St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/06/2015 @ 12:05 am. 


Charge:  Warrant- Failure to Pay Fines (2cts)

     Rinney Turner was located on St. Clair St. A warrants check revealed that he held active warrants for the Sixth Ward City Court. Turner was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Wiliam J. Carr, 26 years of age, Address- Fern St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 11/06/2015 @ 2:04 am. 


Charge:  Warrant- Failure to Appear Probation Violation (2cts)
                Warrant- Contempt of Court (2cts)

William Carr was transported from the Patterson Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department for active warrants he held for the Sixth Ward City Court. Carr was booked and incarcerated.
