MCPD Arrest Report 11/11/2015

The following persons were arrested  by the Morgan City Police Department during the last activity period beggining 11/10/2015


Sherkera Sylvester, Age 35, Address-Short St. Morgan City,La was arrested on 11/10/2015 @ 2:24 pm.


Charges: Warrant-Illegal Carrying of a Weapon
                 Warrant-Possession of Sch II Narcotics
                 Warrant-FTA for Revocation Issuing Worthless Checks
     Sherkera Sylvester was located by Officers in the area of Roderick St.  Officers placed Sylvester under arrest on warrants for Illegal Carrying of a Weapon and Possession of Sch II Narcotics.  Sylvester was also found to have an outstanding warrant from the 16th JDC for FTA for a Revocation on Issuing Worthless Checks.  Sylvester was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

Sheena Sanders, Age 32, Address-Gen MaCarthur St. Morgan City,La. was arrested on 11/10/2015 @3:16 pm


Charges: Warrant-Possession of Marijuana
                 Warrant-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Warrant-Improper Lane usage

     Sheena Sanders was located on Brashear Ave in Morgan City by officers patrolling the area.  Officers made contact with Sanders and placed her under arrest for outstanding warrants from the City Court of Morgan City.  Sanders was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

Robert Mulligan, Age 63, Address-Third St. Morgan City,La. was arrested on 11/10/2015 @ 3:22 pm


Charge-Warrant Illegal Possession of Stolen Things(Over $1000)

     An officer patrolling the area of Hwy 182 and Myrtle St. observed Robert Mulligan riding in a vehicle.  The officer knew of an outstanding  warrant on Mulligan and conducted a traffic stop.  Mulligan was placed under arrest on Warrants for Illegal Possession of Stolen Things (valued over $1000).  The warrant stems from an investigation in which Mulligan sold an item taken in a vehicle burglary.

Micah Soileau, Age-18, Address- Joey St. Morgan City,La.  was arrested on 11/10/2015 @ 6:30 pm


Charge: Warrant- Probation Violation      Micah Soileau was already incarcerated at the Morgan City Police Department Jail when a warrant was issued for Probation Violation from the City Court of Morgan City.  Soileau was booked and remains incarcerated at the Morgan City Police Department.

Roger Short, Age 29, Address-Mary St. Gibson,La. was arrested on 11/10/2015 @ 7:21 pm


Charges: Warrant- Possession of Sch II CDS
                 Warrant-Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of CDS
     Roger Short was a passenger located in a vehicle which was stop in connection with an investigation by detectives.  A search warrant was executed on the vehicle at which time officers located a gun and a pack cigarettes which contained suspected crack cocaine where Short was located in the vehicle.  After speaking with Detectives short admitted that the gun was his and he smoked the same brand of cigarettes.  Short was placed under arrest booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail.

Jasmine Ayers, Age 26, Address-Baily Lane Ameila,LA was arrested on 11/10/2015 @ 9:26 pm.


Charges: Warrant-Failure to Comply with Drug Court 
                  Resisting an officer by Giving False Information
     Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Hwy 90 and MLK.  Upon speaking with Ayers she gave officers the name of Jasmine Charles.  After checking warrants officers determine that Jasmine Ayers was using the name of Jasmine Charles to hide the fact that she was wanted by the 16JDC Drug Court. Ayers was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

Carlos Perez, Age 28, Address-Sixth St. Morgan City,La was arrested on 11/11/2015 @ 12:15 am.  


Charges: No Drivers License 
                 Improper lane usage
     A patrolling officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Hwy 182 and Hwy 90 after observing a vehicle weaving between the lanes of travel.  Upon identifying the driver as Carlos Perez, the officer learned that Perez did not have a driver's license.  Perez was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
