The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 12/17/2015


Marcus Walker, 36 years of age, Address-Duke St. Morgan City,La. was arrested on 12/17/2015 at 5:37 pm


Charges: Aggravated Battery

Irving Dewey, 49 years of age, Address- Railroad Ave, Morgan City,La was arrested on 12/17/2015 @ 5:34 pm.


Charges: Disturbing the Peace by Fighting
                 Aggravated Battery
                 Warrant-Simple Battery (St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office)

     Officers were called to the Fifth St. area due to a fight taking place.  Officer arrived and located the subjects in the fight identified as Marcus Walker and Irving Dewey.  Officers learned that both Walker and Dewey started to fight after Walker approached Dewey and threw a beer can at him which hit him in the head.  According to Walker Dewey used a weapon to hit him in the head also.  Dewey and Walker were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.  Once at the Morgan City Police Department it was learned that Dewey had an outstanding warrant from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's office.  

Terrance Clay, 35 years of age, Address-Bayou Black Dr. Gibson,La was arrested on 12/17/2015 at 9:21 pm.

Charges: Possession of Sch 1 CDS-Marijuana with the intent to Distribute
                 Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of CDS
                 Violation of uniform CDS law
                 Transactions Involving Proceeds from CDS
                 No Turn Signal

     A patrol officer in the area of 6th St. and Brashear Ave.  observed a vehicle make a turn without using a turn signal. The officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver Terrance Clay.  While speaking with Clay he kept putting his hands in his pocket.  The officer searched Clay for weapons at which time he admitted he had a gun in the car.  While securing the weapon for safety the officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana in the car.  The officer questioned Clay about the smell at which time he admitted there was marijuana his car.  Clay was placed under arrested at which time the officer search the rest of the vehicle.  The officer located more suspected marijuana inside the vehilce.  Clay was in the area of the Morgan City Jr. High School when the stop occurred.

Christopher Jenkins, 34 years of age, Address- Seventh St. Morgan City,La was arrested on 12/18/2015 @ 12:08 am.

Charge: Resisting an Officer

     Officers were called to residence for a disturbance.  Officer arrived and spoke with the subjects involved during which time one of the subject Christopher Jenkins kept approaching the other subject  and yelling at him.  Officer told Jenkins to step away from the other subject but he refused to do so.  Officer attempted to move him, however Jenkins began to struggle with officer.  Jenkins was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail where he was booked
