MCPD Arrest Report 02/18/2016
The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 02/17/2016.
Kanavia D Jones, 30 years of age, Address: Birch St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/17/2016 @ 11:15am.
Charges: Simple Battery
Simple Criminal Damage to Property
An officer responded to a local business on Victor II Blvd. in regard to a report of a disturbance. The officer arrived and made contact with a victim who had signs of a battery and a witness to the incident reported. The officer was told by the individuals that Kanavia D Jones who had left the area proir to the officer's arrival had approached the victim who was sitting inside of a parked vehicle. Reports indicate that Jones took a cellular phone from the victim throwing it to the ground damaging the phone. Jones was alledged to have then committed a battery on the victim at which time Jones got into a vehicle and fled the scene. A description was provide to officers and Jones was located moments later at an address on Birch Street. Jones was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
Brandon Kent, 29 years of age, Address: Short St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/17/2016 @ 1:52pm.

Kenneth R Morris, 18 years of age, Address: Robin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/17/2016 @ 2:12pm.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana

Violation of Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Laws
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle in the area of Marguerite Street @ Sixth Street with an obscurbed windshield. A traffic stop was conducted and driver identified as Brandon Kent and passenger as Kenneth R Morris. A drivers license check revealed that Kent had a suspended drivers license. Both Kent and Morris's behavior aroused the officer's suspicions that they may be involved in illegal drug activity. A search of the vehicle was conducted when suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia was located. Morris was also alleged to have given Kent some of the suspected marijuana. The location of the incident was within the area of a local school. Both Kent and Morris were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.
David A Dahl, 50 years of age, Address: Pine Acres, Covington, La. was arrested on 02/17/2016 @ 4:29pm.
Charge: Appearing In An Intoxication Condition
An officer responded to a local hotel on Roderick Street in regard to an intoxicated subject in front of the business disturbing customers. The officer located David A Dahl in front of the business who matched the description of the subject. Dahl was suspected to have been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated. Dahl was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
Harold Turner, 66 years of age, Address: Adams St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/17/2016 @ 6:21pm.
Charge: Warrant - Probation Violation
Harold Turner was located by officers at a residence on Fourth Street and arrested on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Turner was transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail and incarcerated.
