Devante Frank, 23 years of age, Address: Aucoin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/25/2016 @ 8:25am.
Charge: Battery on a Correctional Facility Employee
Morgan City Police Department Correctional officers came into contact with Devenate Frank who was incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail. During the incicdent Frank was accused of committing a battery on one of the correctional officers. Frank was additionally booked on battery charges and remains incarcerated.
Max L James, 32 years of age, Address: Front St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/25/2016 @ 12:36pm.
Charges: Possession of Crack Cocaine (Over 28 Grams)

Warrant - Distribution of Crack Cocaine
Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Detectives along with the assistance of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Narcotics Unit conducted a vehicle stop on Fourth Street near Brashear Avenue. The stop was in regard to investigators identifying Max L James, a known convicted felon as an occupant inside the vehicle. It was known by investigators that there was an active arrest warrant for James held by the Morgan City Police Department for the distribution of crack cocaine. The stop was conducted and James placed under arrest on the warrant. A search was conducted when investigators located a large amount of suspected crack cocaine, suspsected alprazolam, suspected marijuana and a firearm on James. Investigators also located U.S. currency which was believed to have been obtained from the sale of illegal drugs. The location of the incident was within the area of a local elementary school in violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws. James was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
Stanley Ruffin, 49 years of age, Address: Second St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/25/2016 @ 12:54pm.
Charge: Warrant - Failure to Appear on Traffic Offense (32nd Judicial Dist. Court)
Stanley Ruffin was located by officers on Fourth St. where he was arrested on an active arrest warrant held by the 32 Judicial District Court. Ruffin was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Alyssa L Ashmore, 26 years of age, Address: Third St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/25/2016 @ 4:00pm.
Charge: Contempt of Court
Alyssa L Ashmore was placed under arrest in the 6th Ward Morgan City Court for contempt of court. Ashmore was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Heather D Banda, 38 years of age, Address: Fifth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/26/2016 @ 1:30am.
