MCPD Arrest Report 01/17/2017
The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 01/14/2017:
Martin Chatman Jr. 34 years of age, Address: Third St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/14/2017 @ 12:01am.
Charge: Domestic Abuse Child-Endangerment
Officers responded to a residence on Third Street in regard to a reported domestic disturbance. The officers arrived when they located Martin Chatman Jr. along with a female who appeared to be the victim of a battery and three all under 5 years of age. The officer were told that during an argument between Chatman and the female, Chamtman allegedly committed a battery on the female while in the presence of the three children. During the investigaiton, evidence of the alleged battery was uncovered by the officers. Chatman was placed under arrested and transporte to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Ashley Rudolph, 24 years of age, Address: Saturn Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/14/2017 @ 1:29am.
Charges: Driving While Intoxicated
Possession of Marijuana
Red Light Violation
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red light at the intersection of Hwy 182 @ Myrtle Street. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Ashley Rudolph. During a traffic investigation, reports indicated that Rudolph was suspected to have been drinking and was believed to be intoxicated. Rudolph was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where for further chemical testing where Rudolph submitted to the Intoxilyzer 5000 yielding a blood alcohol concentration of .116 grams percent. Rudolph was placed under arrest and a more thorough search was conducted when officers located suspected marijuana on Rudolph. Rudolph was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Purcell A Gros, 42 years of age, Address: Sixth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/14/2017 @ 9:33am.
Charge: Warrant - Probation Violation
Purcell A Gros was located by officers at an address on Hwy 182 where he was arrested on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Gros was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Rose L Carbonell, 31 years of age, Address: Two Sisters Ct. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/14/2017 @ 10:11pm.
Charges: Improper Lane Usage
Driving While Intoxicated
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle on La. 70 traveling out of its designated lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Rose L Carbonell. During a traffic investigation, reports indicated that Carbonell was suspected to have been drinking and was believed to be intoxicated. Carbonell was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for further chemical testing where Carbonell refused the Intoxilyzer 5000 test. Carbonell was arrested and booked into the Morgan City Jail where she was incarcerated.
Katie J Robinson, 50 years of age, Address: Marshall St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/15/2017 @ 5:16pm.
Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
An officer responded to the area of Sixth Street near Spruce Street in regard to an intoxicated female causing a disturbance. The officer arrived and located a female who matched the description provided identified as Katie J Robinson. During an investigation, reports indicated that Robinson was screaming and cursing at the officer. Robinson was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Miguel A Galeas, 27 years of age, Address: Brashear Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/15/2017 @ 5:18pm.
Charge: Warrant - Contempt of Court
Miguel A Galeas was located by officers at a residence on Brashear Avenue was he was arrested on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Galeas was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Ryan J Kemp, 33 years of age, Address: Joseph St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/16/2017 @ 12:33am.
Charges: Misuse of Bright Lights
Driving Under Suspension
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling in the area of Victor II Blvd and Brashear Avenue with its bright lights activated to oncoming traffic. A traffic stop was conducted when the driver of the vehicle was identified as Ryan J Kemp. During a traffic investigation, reports indicated it was learned that Kemp had a suspended drivers license. Kemp was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Ahmad J Rashad, 30 years of age, Address: Claudet Ave. Zachary, La. was arrested on 01/16/2017 @ 12:00pm.

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling on Railroad Avenue with an expired motor vehicle inspection sticker. The officer attempted to conducted a traffic stop when the driver of the vehicle failed to stop and continued traveling for several city blocks later stopping at the intersection of First Street and Union Street. During a traffic investigation, reports indicated that the driver of the vehicle gave the officer a false name to hide his true identity. After several moments officers were able to uncover the driver true identity as Rashad J Ahmad. According to reports it was learned that Ahmad had a suspended driver license and also had several active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Ahmad was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
