MCPD Arrest Report 03/02/017
The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 03/01/2017.
Joseph A Acosta, 24 years of age, Address: Pecos St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/01/2017 @ 8:42am.
Charges: Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Criminal Damage to Property
Officers responded to a residence on Idaho Street in regard to a reported disturbance. When officers arrived they spoke with the complainant who told the officers that he/she was involved in an argument with Joseph A Acosta. During the argument Acosta attempted to leave the residence but could not due to the complainants vehicle parked in front of his in the driveway. Officers were told that Acosta struck the vehicle pushing it out of the way and left the area. Acosta along with his vehicle was located at a residence on Grove Street moments later. During an investigation, reports indicated that evidence of the alleged damaged property was uncovered by the officers. Acosta was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Sandra Dominguez, 55 years of age, Address: East 175 St. Bronx, NY was arrested on 03/01/2017 @ 3:03pm.
Charge: Theft by Shoplifting (value $72.59)
Officers responded to a local retail store on Seventh Street in regard to a reported shoplifter. Officers were told that the suspected had walked out of the store and was attempting to flee the area. A description was provided when officers located a female matching the reported description in the area identified as Sandra Dominguez. Reports indicate that as officer approached, Dominguez began discarding several items onto the ground. Dominguez was detained for further investigation when officers spoke with store employees who told the officers that Dominguez was suspected of stealing several items from the store and leaving without payment. During an investigation, evidence of the alleged theft was uncovered by the officers according to reports. Dominguez was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Lectoria Grogan, 28 years of age, Address: St. Claire St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/02/2017 @ 12:21am.
Charges: Warrant - Failure to Appear on 11/15/2016 for Simple Battery
Warrant - Failure to Appear on 11/15/2017 for Criminal Damage to Property
Warrant - Failure to Appear on 11/15/2017 for Resisting An Officer
Warrant - Failure to Appear on 12/13/2016 for Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
Lectoria Grogan was located by officers where she was arrested on several active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Grogan was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
