MCPD Arrest Report 03/24/2017
The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 03/23/2017:
Shanita Evans, 38 years of age, address: Oak St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/23/2017 @ 10:00 A.M.
Charges: Theft by Shoplifting
Officers responded to an alleged shoplifting complaint at a local business on La 182. Upon arriving officers spoke with management who identified Shanita Evans as being observed concealing merchandise in her purse valued at $56.29 according to reports. Evans was detained by store personnel at which time the police were contacted. According to reports upon speaking with Evans she admitted to the alleged theft. Evans was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Joshua A. Falgout, 37 years of age, address: Sycamore St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/23/2017 @ 10:40 A.M.
Charges: Contempt of Court
Joshua A. Falgout ,who was incarcerated at the Morgan City Jail on prior charges, was arrested on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court . Falgout was booked into Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Joshua A. Falgout ,who was incarcerated at the Morgan City Jail on prior charges, was arrested on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court . Falgout was booked into Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Taylor Murphy, 22 years of age, address: Green Leaf Blvd Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/23/2017 @ 1:55 P.M.
Charges: Theft by Shoplifting
Warrant: Probation Violation
Officers responded to an alleged shoplifting complaint at a local business on La 182. Upon arriving officers spoke with management who stated that a white female was observed concealing merchandise in her purse valued at $105.91 and had left the business prior to officers arrival. A description of the suspect was provided and moments later Taylor Murphy was located by officers in the area. According to reports when speaking with officers Murphy admitted to the alleged theft. During the investigation it was also learned that Murphy held active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Murphy was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Latifah Friels, 24 years of age, address: Fifth St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/23/2017 @ 4:00 P.M.
Charges: Direct Contempt of Court
Latifiah Friels was arrested at the 6th Ward Morgan City Court on charges of Direct Contempt of Court. According to reports Friels did not abide by the terms or her court ordered probation. Friels was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Heidi R. Sams, 38 years of age, address: Fourth St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/23/2017 @ 6:28 P.M.
Charges: Probation Violation
Heidi R. Sams was located at the Morgan City Police Department and arrested on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Sams was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Patricia A. Horton, 51 years of age, address: Cypress St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/23/2017 @ 10:24 P.M.
Charges: Warrant: Possession of SCH I (Synthetic Marijuana)
Warrant: Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug Free Zone)
Patricia A. Horton was located at a residence on Cypress St. and arrested on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police Department. The warrants stems from an investigation conducted by officers in February of 2017. According to reports officers came in contact with Horton in the area of Egle St. During the encounter it Horton was found to be in possession of a suspected synthetic marijuana. The area where the incident had taken placed was within a Drug Free Zone. The suspected synthetic marijuana was sent to the crime lab for analysis and an arrest warrant was prepared for Horton’s arrest. Horton was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
