The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 03/24/2017:
Harvey J. Morgan, 35 years of age, address: Rose Park Ln. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/24/2017 @ 12:02 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Possession of Methamphetamine
Warrant: Possession of Marijuana 2nd Offense
Warrant: Red Light Violation
Harvey J. Morgan was located and arrested in the area of Railroad Avenue on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police Department. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by narcotic investigators in January of 2017 where a vehicle was observed running a red light in the area of La 182. Investigators initiated a traffic stop and Morgan was identified as the driver. Morgan, who was acting suspicious, granted investigators permission to search the vehicle in which suspected Methamphetamine and Marijuana was located. The suspected narcotics were seized and sent to the crime lab pending analysis and an arrest warrant was prepared for Morgan's arrest. Morgan was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
William J. Roberson, 55 years of age, address: N. Everett St., Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/24/2017@ 2:39 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Simple Burglary
Warrant: Criminal Damage to Coin-Operated Device
Warrant: Possession of Burglary Tools
William J. Roberson was located and arrested in the area of South Railroad Avenue on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by detectives in October of 2015 involving an alleged vending machine that had been burglarized at a local business. According to reports during the investigation Roberson was identified a suspect and an arrest warrant was prepared for his arrest. Roberson was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Donna S. Reed was located at the Morgan City Police Department and arrested on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court and Berwick Police Department. Reed was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Katie J. Robinson, 50 years of age, address: Marshall St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/24/2017 @ 8:10 p.m.
Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
Careless Operation

Patrolling officers observed a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Second Street. Officers conducted a stop on the vehicle and Katie J. Robinson was identified as the driver. The officers detected an odor of alcoholic emitting from Robinson. Field sobriety was administered which Robinson conducted poorly. Robinson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for chemical testing. Upon arriving to the Morgan City Jail Robinson submitted to chemical test and her blood alcohol content was determined to be .112g% according to reports. Robinson was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Michael D. Thompson Jr., 22 years of age, address: Sixth Street Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/25/2017 @ 10:00 a.m.
Charges: Reckless operation of a motor vehicle
Patrolling officers observed a vehicle in the area of Fig St. traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers attempted to apprehend the vehicle but were unable to do so due to the vehicle’s speed of travel. According to reports officers observed the vehicle at one point spinning the tires causing smoke. The vehicle pulled into the Lake End Park at which time officers conducted a traffic stop. Michael D. Thompson was identified as the driver. Thompson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Davida Bias, 33 years of age, address, Fourth St. Berwick, La, arrested on 03/25/2017 @ 2:11 p.m.
Charges: Theft by Shoplifting
Officers responded to a complaint of an alleged shoplifter at a local business on La 182. Officers arrived and spoke with management and Davida Bias was identified as a suspect. According to reports the officer was advised that Bias had went into the business and placed an order for some seafood and requested that it was packaged a particular way. Bias was given the order and was observed later by employees in the business without the order she had placed. She was observed entering the restroom area and upon exiting that was area was check and the merchandise, valued at $25.78, was located. According to reports Bias admitted that she was attempting to steal the items. Bias was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Donald J. Lewis Jr., 41 years of age, address: Fourth St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/26/2017 @ 9:06 a.m.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana
Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug Free Zone)
No Seat Belt
Patrolling officers observed a vehicle in the area of Ditch Ave. and the driver was observed operating without the use of a seat belt. A stop was conducted and the Donald J. Lewis Jr. was identified as the driver. According to reports during the stop Lewis was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. The area where the incident took place was found to be within a Drug Free Zone. Lewis was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Jamone D. Jones, 25 years of age, address: Marshall St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/26/2017 @ 10:51 a.m.
Charges: Warrant: Failure to Appear for Arraignment on 03/14/2017 (3 counts)
Jamone D. Jones was located and arrested on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court on the original charges of Possession of Marijuana, Driving under Suspension, and Failure to use a turn signal. Jones was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
James M.E. Haydel, 31 years of age, address: Market St. Raceland, La, arrested on 03/26/2017 @ 1:55 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Domestic Abuse Battery 2nd offense (Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office)
Warrant: Failure to Appear for Court for Child Support (Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office)
Warrant: Failure to Appear for Court for Simple Assault (Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office)
Patrolling officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a red light violation. During the stop James M.E. Haydel was identified as a passenger. During the course of the investigation officers learned that Haydel held multiple active arrest warrants through two jurisdictions. Haydel was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Wesley R. Chappelle, 54 years of age, address: Emy Ln. Patterson, La, arrested on 03/26/2017 @ 8:38 p.m.

Wesley R. Chappelle was located and arrested in the area of Mount St. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Chappelle was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by officers in September of 2013 in which Broussard was involved in an altercation. According to reports the victim suffered injuries that required medical attention. Broussard was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
