MCPD Arrest Report 04/19/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 44 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result during the last reporting period beginning on 04/18/2017:

Andrew Smith
Andrew C. Smith, 32 years of age, address: Bald Cypress St. Houma, La, arrested on 04/18/2017 @ 1:27 a.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH IV CDS (Zolpidem)
                 Possession of Marijuana
                 Possession of a Legend Drug w/o prescription (Cyclobenzaprine)
                 Improper Lighting
                 Open Container

Jacob P. Bourg, 25 years of age, address: Judith St. Chauvin, La, arrested on 04/18/2017 @ 1:27 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: Unlawful Possession of Alcoholic Beverage
                                  Open Container in a Motor Vehicle

Patrol officers observed a vehicle in the area of LA 182 with improper lighting. A stop was initiated and Andrew C. Smith was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports during the investigation Smith was found to be in possession of Zolpidem, Cyclobenzaprine, suspected marijuana, and open alcoholic beverages. One of the open alcoholic beverages was identified as belonging to Jacob P. Bourg who was a passenger in the vehicle. Bourg also held active warrants for his arrest through the Thibodaux Police Department. Both Smith and Bourg was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Gerald Jones, 42 years of age, address: Hwy 182 Morgan City, La, arrested on 04/18/2017 @ 9:47 a.m.

                  Warrant: Resisting an Officer by giving false information

Gerald Jones was located and arrested in Patterson, La on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court and Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation in March of 2017 in which an officer came in contact with Jones and he allegedly gave the officer a false name to avoid arrest on the active arrest warrants already held. Jones was later identified after the officer released him and a warrant was prepared for his arrest. Jones was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Lydia J. Cruz, 31 years of age, address: Todd St. Berwick, La, arrested on 04/18/2017 @ 2:49 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Probation Violation

Lydia J. Cruz was located and arrested in the area of Federal Avenue on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Cruz was transported to the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Devonte Breaux, 19 years of age, address: Cremo Ln. Patterson, La, arrested on 04/18/2017 @ 3:12 p.m.

Nathaniel Washington, 37 years of ages, address: Levee Rd. Morgan City, La, arrested on 04/18/2017 @ 3:15 p.m.

Matthew Harrigan 04182017
Matthew V. Harrigan, 23 years of age, address: Leona St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 04/18/2017 @ 4:24 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Attempted First Degree Murder

The Morgan City Police Department Patrol and Criminal Investigations Divisions assisted the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office after they responded to a call in Stephensville of a shooting that had occurred in their jurisdiction. Information was obtained and given to the Morgan City Police Department of a potential suspect vehicle that was observed leaving the area. Patrol officers subsequently located that vehicle in the Lake End Park area in which two of the four subjects fled on foot. Two of the subjects were detained and one other was located at Lake End Park. The second subject that fled on foot was located later in the day. The Morgan City Police Department Criminal Investigations Division worked with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff investigators and evidence was uncovered linking Devonte Breaux, Nathaniel Washington, and Matthew Harrigan to the crime. St. Martin Parish investigators obtained arrest warrants for Breaux, Washington, and Harrigan for Attempted First Degree Murder. Breaux, Washington, and Harrigan were booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated awaiting transfer to the St. Martin Parish Detention Center. 

Angela Campbell, 53 years of age, address: Second St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 04/18/2017 @ 4:00 p.m.

Charges: Contempt of Court

Angela Campbell was arrested at the 6th Ward Morgan City Court for Contempt of Court. Campbell was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Tyrone Boyd, 51 years of age, address: Lussan St. Luling, La, arrested on 04/18/2017 @ 4:46 p.m.

Charges: Criminal Trespassing

Patrol officers responded to the area of Railroad Avenue in regards to a male subject walking on the railroad tracks and attempted to enter upon the train. According to reports officers arrived and learned that Boyd was observed by the conductor getting off the train in Morgan City. Boyd was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Ricky L. Dusenberry, 46 years of age, address: Louis Dr. Houma, La, arrested on 04/18/2017 @ 7:03 p.m.

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 Urinating in Public

Patrol officers responded to the area of US 90 in regards to a reckless driver traveling into Morgan City. Information was obtained during initial call that the vehicle had exited off US 90 and traveled to the area of a local business on Fifth St. and was observed urinating outside his vehicle. Officers arrived and initiated a stop in which Ricky L. Dusenberry was identified as the operator of the vehicle. During the investigation officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Standardized Field Sobriety Test was conducted in which Dusenberry performed poorly. Dusenberry was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for chemical testing. Dusenberry submitted to the test which resulted in his blood alcohol level registering at .193g%. Dusenberry was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Frank L. Adams Jr., 62 years of age, address: Bayou Blue Rd. Houma, La, arrested on 04/18/2017 @ 11:02 p.m.

Charges: Open Container in a vehicle
                 Failure to Signal

Patrol officers observed a vehicle negotiate several lane changes failing to signal in the area of LA 182. According to reports a stop was initiated and the driver was identified as Frank L. Adams Jr. During the stop the officer detected a slight odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath.  During the investigation officers located an open container of an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle. Adams was found not to be impaired but admitted to drinking the alcoholic beverage. Adams was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
